With a capacity of 1700 seats and excellent visibility and acoustics throughout, the Van Wezel hosts a large variety of performances--musicals, comedies, lectures, classical and popular singers--during fall, winter and spring. We keep an eye out for shows that interest us and then go. They have a little of everything from rock to opera. Very good selection so check there calendar of upcoming shows.

It is wonderful to see and hear The Sarasota Orchestra, but the hall has very poor acoustics. This respectable orchestra deserves better.

Great place to see everything from rock to Bach. The seating is in a large shallow arc around the stage. It's comfortable and there's a good place to eat during intermission.
