Would love to put our own kayaks in here, but the park makes it harder to do that...guessing to make you rent theirs.

Deer Lake is still beautiful, but they have built houses, etc. all around it so it is no longer an escape where you feel isolated.

We decided to take a hike here and enjoyed a beautiful trail and wooden ramp which traversed through majestic trees, a lake, and high snowy whit dunes to a beautiful white sand beach. It was one of the most scenic trail we have walked.

Biked here from Watercolor. Walked the beach for miles. Simply outstanding way to spend an afternoon. Uncrowded.

Very beautiful area. Safe and easy boardwalk from the parking lot, over natural sand dunes, to a very unpopulated beach. Gulf water was clear and enjoyable. Take with you some water and a beach chair!!

Nice walk through pristine dunes to an uncrowded beach. Water has some tannin color due to the inflow from the creek out of Deer Lake.

The entrance to Deer Lake State Park is easy to miss. In a way, that is good because it is a "best kept secret" beach location. If you are looking for a beach that is clean, not packed chair to chair, no vendors and a...More
