The Sanibel Island Causeway did exactly what I expect a causeway to do do-- it got me from the mainland to the island.

This is actually a nice long causeway that has plenty of place to pull over and go swim, fish, etc. The views are great and don't forget to stop at the Tourist information center on the right as soon as you get to the island....More

There are many places to stop along the way, bathe in the sea, watch the boats and birds, fly a kite, or wind surf. It costs $6 to cross to the island but nothing to go back.

Nice Park along causeway to island. Very scenic and access is very easy, just pull over. $6 when going to island, no fee return to mainland. If going to Sanibel worth the stop.

If you want to fish this is a good place. If you want to catch a few rays of sun this is a good place. If you want to dolphin watch this is a good place. Lots of place to park and restrooms as well.

For only $6 (inbound Sanibel) you can see sweeping vistas of the gulf, along with miles of white sandy beaches. There are even areas where you can pull over and actually walk the beach...or relax with a book...or just sun yourself!

You have several areas along the causeway you can stop on and shell hunt or just take pictures. This is a great area to get sunset pictures and shells.
