I like stopping here and get a kayak for me and the kid. We go at low tide and see all the brown pelicans sitting on the shallow flats. We see osprey hunting for fish and flying their catch to the nests. the older guy working the marina was even helpful, he pulls the kayaks out and gets life vests... More

We drove by here to check out the cottages for rent. We have 2 toy poodles and they have dog friendly one directly on the beach. They are old Fla. but really cute.

Very competitive prices, $15/hr for a 2-person kayak. Water in the bay relatively calm - as compared to the Gulf. Nice mangroves to explore. Large variety of birds to see and plenty of fish jumping. When you leave the dock, paddle directly to your left and you will see a very small cove with a small patch of sand/shells at... More

Location was right on the beach. Cottage was small but adequate. Needed some repair on the screened in porch but overall it provided us with what we needed. It was also quiet. Parking is very tight. Pets are allowed in some of the cottages and we took our two dogs who are small and medium. You want to be sure... More

I wanted tomdock my boat and use the facilities. I was denied--even after I expressed my willingness to pay the $30 mooring fee. The manager seemed to take pleasure in denying the very service in which he is business to make money. There are certain people-- and he is one of them. Too bad Butch Ricky launches his kayak guide... More

I read some really bad reviews for the marina at Castaways, so I had to write that I had a great experience with them. We stayed at one of the cottages and we rented both bikes and kayaks from them. The man that was there was not over friendly, but was respectful and efficient. If you rent a kayak there,... More

Stop by and book a fishing guide/tour. The bay side is prettier than the gulf with bird watching, dolphins up close and the occasional otter. There's fresh water access so cleaning your fish or boat isn't a problem.

The Castaways marina is a small group of docks with a small launch ramp.We satyed in one of the Castaways cottages, and although we did not use the marina, we visited it and it extremely scenic. It is on the bay and therefore the water is calm. The dock area is full of pelicans of more than one type hat... More

My husband and I used the marina at castaways. Our experience using the ramp initially was okay. The marina is a little small but were happy that we could use the ramp and store our trailer for the week. We stayed nearby and had a wonderful week on captiva. When I went to retrieve our trailer and wait for my... More
