I have been coming to Sanibel for 40 years, and this trip was my first time (and my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th) visit to the library. What a great facility and an amazing friendly and helpful staff. With our whole family visiting for two weeks, and with our three kids (two college and one high school) having online school, the library's dependable wifi was a lifesaver. I logged a private meeting room for two hours for a zoom business call, and my wife, who is a preschool teacher, had to prepare unexpectedly for a zoom class when her substitute was sick. We got library cards ($10), and she was able to get books, games, puppets, etc. to make a full impromptu teaching plan for the week. We even checked-out a portable wifi card to give our kids some flexibility for online options. Frankly, I could not be more impressed with the Sanibel Library.

We love visiting Sanibel library when we’re here! They are very up-to-date on the new releases. It has just been renovated so it is beautiful. There is even a screened in porch with rockers where you can just enjoy some quiet. It only costs $10 a year for a library card which is well worth it. Love it!

Many things add value to visiting Sanibel each winter. The library is a real asset! But, the consistent commitment the community shows to culture is remarkable. The Big Arts is near completion, the Community House was remodeled in 2018-2019. The Shell Museum has just reopened, the the new causeway is not exactly new anymore, but it a fabulous, providing an incredible view without stopping for boats to pass under! It's hard to believe the Recreation Center at the Sanibel School is now a decade old (or older) but it too is a gem on the crown that is Sanibel.

If you're staying on Sanibel for a good spell, check out (pun intended) the libary. It's simply gorgeous. There are beautiful shells on display in the lobby, lovely reading nooks, and a wealth of books.

We went to the library looking for a used puzzle to buy or take out while we were staying on the island. I am a librarian in my hometown so I was also interested in seeing what they had to offer. Beautiful library, Lots of nice ares and what a great staff, very helpful. One of the cool things that library patrons can check out are bagged cooking kits with recipes included. My husband and I both bought books from the used section.

We enjoyed our first visit to the Sanibel Library having arrived on island a couple of days ago. As we walked into the lobby, we were blown away by the shell collection they had. It was a warm and inviting environment. As we went up the stairs to the main library we were thrilled to see how open and spacious the library was. The staff there was super knowledgeable and so friendly. She showed us how to sign our kids up for the summer reading program, which will allow them to not only receive prizes (books of course) but also donate a book to the Golisano Children's Hospital. I also enjoyed the screened porch area that had ample seating to enjoy the outdoors while reading. We can't wait to come back!

We woke up to a chilly day here on Sanibel and were looking for an indoor activity. We attended storytime with our 3 and 5 year old, and it was great!! I highly recommend a visit!

What a nice little library! We got a visitor card so we could borrow childrens' books (yay, less to carry in my suitcase), pleasure reading for myself and my husband, and DVDs to watch in the evening (adult and kids). The space is very comfortable with a place for the kids to hang and play (the boat is really cute), very friendly and helpful staff, and more than enough for a week's vacation.
