Wonderful children's section

My kids absolutely love the library on Sanibel. They have a fun and extensive kids section. It is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon or to get out of the sun/heat.

We learned about this library right here on Trip Advisor. Usually you wouldn't think that a library would be necessarily over interesting, but this one was. At the entrance, there is a large shell display which was very impressive. There is also a display with some fossilized shells found during the library's building process. The ladies upstairs are wonderful as... More

Funny, but the library is our favorite stop on the island (aside from the beach, of course). Great children's area. There is a toddler play area and the staff doesn't mind the noise. The selection of books is good, but not great. Still, there is plenty to choose from. Young adult/teen selection is very small im comparison. Adult book selection... More

The Sanibel Library is an awesome resource for books, DVDs, children's programs, authors' visits, etc. Also a quiet place to escape to, to read or get online. Very well managed, clean, well-stocked, lovely. Also a beautiful display of shells from Sanibel beaches. I highly recommend it!

Very comfortable. Wonderful accomodations for those wishing to read or study. Restful and relaxing screened porch looking out at the river. Can't imagine a more wonderfully designed library anywhere!

This library has a very nice section for young children that contains another separate area for teenagers. The children's section had plenty of classic and newly-released books as well as movies. They had mind-bending games & puzzle challenges with cool seating for preteens/teens and building sets & several manipulatives for younger kids. They also had coloring/craft materials available on the... More

The Sanibel library is wonderful for locals and well worth a visit from visitors. Their children's reading program is wonderful. All my grandchildren loved going to hear Miss Barb read stories.

I have four children, 7 and under. We enjoyed several hours of games, toys, books and more at this library on a rainy day. We were lucky enough to come on the book sale day, and we walked away with 14 books for $1! We will be back many times this summer!
