Islander Trading Post Antiques has everything you are looking for and more that you didn't even know you wanted! It is a little claustrophobic, but really amazing. We browsed for about an hour. The clerk was friendly and helpful.

My husband insisted we stop and take a look. I was amazed at the array of different things in the shop and the sheer quantity of stuff packed into every nook and cranny. There is definitely something there that will interest everyone, even if you don't buy, it is fun to look around. The prices are a little high, but... More

Very interesting little gem, didn't find any treasures of our own but it was a fun little stop with a huge amount of items!

We're antique dealers so we stop in every time we come to Sanibel just to check it out. Yes some prices are well above market while others are spot on and the quality can be so-so on some stuff but there's plenty of neat items. Give them credit for finding a huge variety to offer you. The 18 cameras are... More

It is always very crowded with people, the isles are very small and filled with mostly junk that they are charging top $ for. My husband stops at a lot of these places they all have a lot of the same stuff and this place the mark up is insane! I have bought a few things from the back for... More

First, I am not an antique person. What got me to stop was the 3 foot tall yellow M&M standing outside the shop. It is full of everything you can think of (including a 4 foot tall Jolly Green Giant). I would highly recommend the Sanibel and Captiva island travel posters on wood. They are aged to look old but... More

If you are looking to escape the sun and heat, spend some time walking down memory lane at the (semi-air-conditioned) Islander Trading Post Antiques. You could spend quite a bit of time perusing through an enormous amount of old stuff. Old tins, original bottles, packaging, medical tools. I was impressed with how organized it was with many drawers labeled with... More

This place has all kinds of neat stuff and especially Florida trinkets. Best collection of vintage tins and metal signage I've seen in an antique shop. They need to work down their prices. Comparing prices on eBay prevented me from making a few purchases. Fun place to explore.

I'm sorry but I didn't see anything much different than many small antique shops everywhere. I guess most people don't come to Captiva Island to shop for antiques. I found the place interest though.

Shop was great and every square inch has something in it. Lots of intriguing things from many genre. 99% of the time I will go into an antique shop and buy nothing. Either nothing "hit me" or the prices were ridiculous. Here I actually bought something! Actually two things. It's worth a look.
