The lighthouse and history are interesting, but the best part is the location on the southern end of the island. Beautiful beach surrounding and great spot by the pier to watch the pelicans fishing. They are amazing and worth the $4/hr parking fee.

We were able to walk from our condo. It's well maintained and was decorated for Christmas. Look for the osprey nest on top of the house chimney.

Rode our bikes from Tarpon Bay road to the lighthouse and back. Great trip on back streets west, middle and east gulf drives. Easy to avoid traffic and quieter ride. Beach was busy but clean and beautiful. The lighthouse itself is neat to see and read some of the history.

The lighthouse and lighthouse tender home are very beautiful and will preserved. Not only that, the beaches, fishing pier and trails around the property are a hidden gem. Very accessible and very clean facilities.

Loved it, especially at sunset. It was an easy walk from my condo. The history is just wonderful. I'll be back again.

While you can not go inside of this light house the walk along the gulf's edge while sea shelling will be more than entertaining. Beautiful area, seemed to be a bike rental area near by.

We rode bikes here one sunny day and strolled around a bit. Nice beach, reasonable shelling and not too crowded.

The lighthouse looks like a metal forestry tower. Not much of interest in terms of architecture or performance. May be of interest at night, but not likely. You can probably see as much as you need to on a drive by. Skip this attraction and go to Bowman's Beach to find shells.

Looks quite different from other lighthouses I've seen but then I guess that might be a good reason to visit. We had walked up the beach a couple of miles to get there so were happy to arrive! Decent bathrooms, water fountains, outdoor showers and nice pathways to get to them. There is an interesting set of information boards on... More
