The light house was very industrial but the surroundings were beautiful! The beach was great for shelling. The people we were talking to said the day before we were there the manatees came so close to them you could practically feel their whiskers. I don't know we didn't see any...we didn't see dolphins either but we spent a couple of... More

I love lighthouses so this was a must see place on the island for me. It is not the prettiest lighthouse I have seen but it was worth the 10 mile bike ride to see. You are not able to tour the lighthouse or the keepers house. The pier is currently closed due to repairs.

We drove to the lighthouse and were severely disappointed. It looked more like a old water tower instead of a lighthouse. There wasn't much to look at. If you're into lighthouses, then check it out. But if you don't care then you aren't missing much if you skip it.

Lighthouse beach is very nice does have bathroom and showers pretty big have a nice walk away to go for a nature walk good Beach to go jet ski and have a great day in the Sun. The water is not as clear as Captiva Beach.

Public bathrooms, pay to park (min. 1 hour $4, I'm pretty sure this is the standard all over the island, but beware the machine doesn't give change!), easy access to the beach, short walk to lighthouse. Views of Fort Myers across the water and the Sanibel Causeway. TONS of shells on this beach, but mostly smaller ones. We found lots... More

The lighthouse on sanibel is a must see if you're in the area. Although you cannot park directly near it, you're allowed to drive directly up to it and see it as well as the caretakers house. Parking is near by for the beach and a short walk to the lighthouse if you wish. Parking is 4 dollars an hour... More

The lighthouse had a ton of history, around it is a nature preserve, the sea turtles have nested and they will soon hatch, you will see the nest have been staked for their protection, a great and neat place to visit

I have biked to this location multiple times. It is not the best beach area but it is cool to see the lighthouse and the grounds that surround it. The bike path on Sanibel is darling and this is one end of the path that provides some much needed shade in the hot July weather.
