While you can't actually go in the lighthouse, the beach in front of it is an amazing place to watch the sunrise. Easy access from the parking lot to the beach with ramps. Not far to walk if you have someone with mobility issues they...More

Parking is limited so get here early, but it is well worth it! This was a very nice beach and the shallow water allowed for everyone to venture away from the shore and have a ton of fun. Several beach access areas off of the...More

Sanibel lighthouse is not like any lighthouse Ive ever seen. Its not a brick or block tower, its a steel structure that towers up. Its a rather beautiful site. The beach that surrounds the light house is one of the most beautiful in Florida. Clear...More

Enjoyed a nice walk on the beach looking for shells at low tide. This icon is a must see if you are visiting Sanibel Island. Not much to do at lighthouse other than shelling and walking on the beach.

Visit the east end of Sanibel to look at the Lighthouse. There is no entrance into the building or light tower but a pleasant walk. Just around the corner is the fishing pier. Public restrooms are located between them both.

This is my third time visiting Sanibel Lighthouse and although the structure isn't anything spectacular, the area around it really is the best shelling in Sanibel in my opinion. Even in the middle of the afternoon, the shells that wash up on shore seem to...More

Nice surroundings, the beach was not too crowded - wish we had more time there! Most part of the tracks are accessable with stroller.
