The Sanibel Thriller is a racing catamaran and took us on a 90 minute circle tour up the Gulf of Mexico and back through Pine Sound. It was very interesting to see where the hurricane had split Captiva into two islands, North Captiva having no electricity. A huge highlight were the several dolphin encounters when they would leap through the... More

Wife and myself have been staying on Sanibel for a month in Jan/Feb every year for past five. We have not done this trip. Outstanding. It is loud but fun and very informative. The young gal was our guide and we liked her much. They knew all about all all around he islands. We actually got a true perspective of... More

If you like fast boats, salt spray and dolphins almost close enough to touch, then this is the adventure for you! The trip around the island and the interesting oral history of Sanibel is almost worth the ride, but most people board to see the dolphins. I suggest arriving early at the dock so you can choose your seating. Getting... More

Been boaters for 20+ years. The boat trip part of this experience was just OK. The Thunder was tired.... Guests in the last row had to get up and walk up to the front of the cabin every time the Captain wanted to get on a plane... The tour guide was reading from cards... The Captain did find one pod... Make reservations... this is well worth the trip and cost! This was our second time on this excursion and my teenage daughters 3rd time and it never disappoints. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and fun to be around --- very organized company. They only take reservations for this excursion, so be sure to make one in advance of your visit... More

OMG- What a great experience. My wife and I had so much fun on this boat ride. It was about 90 minutes give or take and we saw so much of the different areas, isolated small islands, beautiful homes etc. The highlight of course was playing with the dolphins. The boat captain knew right where to find them and they... More

When visiting Sanibel Island take the time to ride the Sanibel Thriller. It is a great way to see the the sights and the dolphins. It's a 90 minute ride going around Sanibel and Captiva Islands. It is an informative and fun way to spend part of an afternoon.

Loved this experience--was looking for something my oldest son would enjoy while here over Christmas. He is not much on all the local nature opportunities, so this seemed the way to go. This was great--lots of fun on a powerful boat. We were early enough to get the back seats which allowed truly close dolphin viewing (even my non-nature son... More

First we would definitely recommend the ride. Good way to get around the island, cool to see the dolphins, and narration was good (if not a bit sing-songy). One small comment on the content though. When talking about the original inhabitants of the island, the narrator said that they were here for "10,000 years before ANYONE thought of coming here."... More
