We arrived during a street festival and after finding parking a few blocks away we walked along the street and checked out the vendors and the stores as well as finding a few good restaurants. A very lovely marina and lake front.

Cute little area with many various shops and restairants, a library, and other businesses. The main brawback here is the extremely high crime rate in Sanford. This city clocks in as safer than just 4% of all cities in the US. Don't be too fooled...More

The hometown feel of Sanford takes me back to a more simple time in life. A short distance from downtown is the waterfront.

Always something going on - food trucks, farmers market, live music. A great place to stroll & Pokémon hunt!

What a hidden gem of a downtown area. Plenty to wet, whet and please your palate. Numerous, about thirty, pubs, bars and sites within a five block walking distant. Wonderful vintage homes, buildings and calm water front sites. Great night life and very cool entertainment...More

Old down town, bypassed by all the modern development, gives this place a charm of it's own. Being renovated by a lot of new places to eat and drink. New local breweries abound.

So many new things there! Grew up in this town and it is so nice to go back and see all of the changes and how great this town is doing now. If downtown was this good when I lived here 10 years ago, I...More

Lived there for almost 20 years. Still has a small town feel. If you don't have to commute the skinny parking lot (I-4) during rush hours, it is nice place to live.
