Wow, all kinds places to eat and great places to visit. If you can't find a place to eat in this section of town then you are not looking. Can't wait until we are back in town to try other places.

Just like out of a movie. Cute, small southern hospitality town. Riverwalk is gorgeous! Downtown is amazing. We love the German restaurant and used book store. You never know what you'll find there and the owner is so sweet. Hit it everytime we are there.

Passed through Downtown Sanford for their festive season food galore celebration. Had too much to eat that day.

I live on the outskirts of Sanford, closer to Lake Mary and I can tell you this little city and it's downtown area is well worth exploring! All within walking distance, I can personally recommend Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe for authentic German Cuisine. Or sit outside and enjoy lite dining and local talent at the Tin Lizzy Tavern. There are... More

A few ok restaurants and one good German restaurant. A bunch of bars with very little else to attract you to this location. Ok walk and bike path along lake front.

Come and enjoy a casual stroll along the riverfront, an alfresco picnic, or a game of basketball. The downtown has amazing microbrews, international restaurant s and the best antique and collectibles shops. Sanford is renowned for their parades, food truck nights and community events. Enjoy a hot date, a rewarding family outing or some quiet time. We will see you... More

When you plan to take the paddle boat cruise, be sure to go early and visit down town Sanford. There are so many unique shops and restaurants, antique shops, the streets are easily traveled, had no problem finding a parking spot, everywhere was clean and neat, shop owners were interesting to talk with and we brought back loads of unique... Visited while on an Instameet with fellow Instagramers. Walked around downtown enjoying the little shops and even nabbed a few Geocaches. Spent some time near the lake, walking and enjoying the cool breeze and the beautiful view!! I hope to be back.

Sanford is known mostly as the terminus for the Amtrak auto-train, and has very little going for it beyond that. Its a small Southern city that is too small for any skyscrapers, too poor for any big museums, too close to major Florida tourist attractions to support its own, yet too far to be a convenient rest stop.
