Little Wekiva River - 8 mile downstream paddle

7 reviews
We are the only outfitters that puts people on the seldom traveled Little Wekiva River. This trip is perfect for the adventure minded, quiet seeking, wildlife observer, birder, or folks who like traveling far from the crowds.

We shuttle you and your gear upstream, cover your launch fee, and then you just peacefully make your way downstream back to our office on the river. Expect to spend 3-5 hours on the water.
$51.29 per adult

This zoo isn't as large as the Miami Zoo, but it's distinguishing factor is that the zoo exists in the middle of a botanical setting. There are plants everywhere as you stroll the boardwalk paths. Some of the animals were not out, but it was great seeing the giraffes and the lemur leopard. It's a very nice day out.

My family and I have yearly passes and my husband and I took a couple of kids with us. The kids had a blast and we really enjoyed the walk. There are lots of places where a person could go and sit and there are a few places to get a cool drink if you need to in the heat. The best part was after walking around in the heat, we stopped at the splash pad and cooled off before we left. It's a fun day, so may sure you stop by the splash pad before leaving.

If I could leave a -5 star review I would. They are way too strict with their masks rules, not to mention they break both of their own rules of mask wearing and social distancing. If you want to be left alone and just look at animals - this isn't the place.

Went for the adult evening (once a month activity) and had the best time. Not at all crowded. Had to wear masks and do social distancing, but everyone was very respectful and took turns if you wanted to get closer to an exhibit. Not all exhibits were open and could not feed the animals - which was disappointing but understandable. The staff were super nice and very helpful. I usually never buy anything at gift shops, but this time bought a bunch of stuff animals just to support the zoo as they are having a tough time. Please do go and enjoy.

Masks are required and there is plenty of space to observe wildlife and keep a social distance. The staff are very helpful, courteous and reall do seem to care for the animals.
