It Takes a Village

Fun little Village with an Ozark feel, except palm trees & a lot of seafood. Definitely lots of fun rides/amusements for kids, but many adult driven activities as well. Atmosphere... read more

It's still not here. :( Sad! There's a place where it clearly is supposed to be. You would think they would have it back up by now.

Visiting the "LURE" requires gated access and the guard happily allowed us in. He just forgot to tell us the lure is missing. We spoke to people on site and they said it was removed last Sept (2015) for refurbishment and are uncertain when it will return. (It's March 2016 now.)

Fun little Village with an Ozark feel, except palm trees & a lot of seafood. Definitely lots of fun rides/amusements for kids, but many adult driven activities as well. Atmosphere & many live music venues to choose from. Scenic bay visual on wharf side. Free scheduled evening concerts in center plaza. As far as food & drink, expect high prices... More

Loved walking The Village. Though it was January and a little chilly, we had an excellent time. Everyone there was friendly and happy. We went as a couple but it's easy to see that it would be a blast for families and groups.

The kids had a ball with this area that had the World's biggest lure. This area of the resort also had bike rentals (2 free each day), a marina bar and grill, water sports area, boat rental and the famous parrott Marrianne.

Right near the marina of Baytowne, with lots of great activities around. Easy to spot. Great photo opportunity.

I had no idea that this was an "attraction" at the Village of Baytowne Wharf! We visited several times, to get bikes and kayaks but thought nothing of this. We did take a picture next to it once!

If you are visiting Baytown, the Wharf, etc then you might want to catch a quick glance of the lure. This itself is not a destination but maybe an interesting passing moment.

Not sure what the draw is, to be honest. We came to the area of Baytowne, which was great, but the lure itself was rusted and anticlimactic. Something to glance at as you head towards the much more engaging views of the bay and the treehouse walk to the Villages area.

My girls and I searched high and low for this bad boy. the staff was incredibly friendly and led us right to it! This whole facility is quite an adventure itself. I highly recommend it!
