Had a fantastic experience on the Destin Princess. 7 members of our family did the 6 hour trip. The crew did a great job and the Captain put us on some fish. We caught 50-60 fish with 33 keepers. We went out about 20 miles (took about an hour and half or so). We fished a good two hours and then headed back. Left at 7 am and we were back by 1:15. One of the crew cleaned our fish for $.50/lb. Well worth it. We brought the fish back to the condo and fried some up and will grill the rest tonight.

If you are prone to motion sickness, make sure you take your Dramamine or patch the night before. Don’t wait until 2 hours before you leave. Seas were 3ft or so and we had 3 people on the boat get sick. Plan ahead and you’ll be fine. If in doubt , take something. Great experience and operation. Red snapper season is just a few days away. I wish we would be here to go out again with the Destin Princess.

I can’t say enough about how amazing this 6 hour trip was yesterday. The captain and the crew were Fantastic in every way. The boat was comfortable and we caught so many fish. There was Dolphins in one of 5 places the captain had us fishing at that kept taking our catch and the Captain went a mile away to another location after about 5 minutes there. If you’re planning a deep sea fishing trip you couldn’t find a better more affordable and fun place then right here. They cleaned and filleted all of our fish perfectly and service dogs are welcome on this boat as well.

Also don’t be a cheapskate….tip the crew! They work for your patronage and do a very good job taking care of you and your party. Some didn’t and that’s just unfortunate. If tipping their hard work isn’t included in your fishing budget then I would suggest you stick to the shore.

I took 26 employees on a 8 hr trip and it was the best, We loaded up on mingos, snapper, and trigger fish.
the crew worked so hard and despite being so busy getting our fish off, they still took time to help the less experienced ones. and didn't grip at those that messing up. and that made the trip so enjoyable.

We are not routine boaters, we looked for the best weather day and decided to go on a 6h deep sea fishing charter. The 3 crew men were great, and helpful and provided warnings… about 1.5 hours in to the ride regarding being sea sick since it was so rough out. The waters were extremely rough and it was not a joyful experience to attempting to fish. Many people were getting sea sick, 1 lady had a hook in her finger, No other fishing charters were out fishing my guess is due to the weather. Out of 56 people only my husband caught a fish able to keep (which we did cook and was amazing) but I feel as though this company did not cancel or inform their guests of the extreme weather sooner due to it being a full boat and thinking they can “pull one over” of vacationers. I know they have great reviews which is why we chose them too. Would not recommend- as captains it is their job to know the weather and prevent situations like this from occurring. Captain never came down to see the baiters probably because he knew he would be questioned on the trip.

Me and my two children took this trip this past week, and for my first time fishing in the ocean I was very disappointed. The first 3 stops were a disaster as every line kept getting stuck together, I was unable to really fish. There was really no space between people and the boat was extremely overpacked. Towards the end my daughter woke up and wanted to fish so the crew moved us to the other side for her to have a pole as she was a paying customer. Once we got to the other side, customers were extremely upset complaining we were moved in their space creating more difficulties to fish, no crew member addressed the trash talk. It was a great experience to see fish I’ve never seen caught before but I would never book on a full boat again. Such a waste of money as more than half of my trip was spent untangling fishing line.

Second time on these boats. First time was poor results with a couple of small Mingo… expensive ride.
So with it being Snapper season, we gave them another try. We did catch a few small snapper and mingo ( about 7 lbs total) getting some small filets… but no one caught anything worth the trip! No one caught even one good sized snapper!
To be snapper season this was unacceptable. We fished two holes for about a total time of 1-1/2 hours, with 4hours traveling time. Not a good reputation for giving the customer their monies worth.
Very disappointing. We felt it was just an expensive boat ride after paying $130 total with tip and cleaning (x2= $260).
Crew was good, however even with them reiterating several times tips were appreciated signs strongly indicated they were expected.

The fishing trip was ok, I guess, but I would not recommend it for those that are inexperienced, or children. It was my first time fishing on a boat like this, and brought my 11 year old daughter with me. We struggled trying to figure out which bait goes on which hook, how long before you reel line back up...we figured it out, and people next to us were helpful, but the crew were very busy getting fish off other people's lines. They just didn't have time to give us pointers. They did give a brief in the cabin, prior to fishing, but no one could hear them because it's very loud inside. Also, my daughter really wanted to fish, but she is too small to hold the larger rod, and handle the reel. (There are signs all over the bought that if the rod goes overboard, you must pay $250 to replace it, so I was pretty paranoid about her accidentally dropping it, plus, the rod gets slick) So, I was helping her the whole time, which meant I didn't get to fish. That's not their fault, but it would have been nice when I signed up, if they would mention that kids can't handle this. If you go with a family, or child, I would only pay for one to fish (if that's possible). Overall, I think the company is ok, I just wish they would be more upfront explaining that if you are new at fishing, or a family, you might have a hard time.

Worst fishing experience ever. My family has previously gone on multiple group deep sea fishing trips with other companies over the years and we’ve never had a bad experience, even when we didn’t catch many fish. However, this experience was different as in hindsight it seems like client safety was an afterthought.

We went out on the Destiny for a 6 hour trip with approximately 40 people, including 6 from our group. The beaches that day in Destin and the surrounding areas were closed (double red flags) due to riptides and high waves. Even with these horrible conditions it didn’t stop our captain from heading out with all of us. Sadly, we were never warned upon checkin about the weather conditions or offered the chance to reschedule our trip to a later date, which we gladly would have done.

The seas were so choppy that nearly half of the customers for this trip got seasick. I also didn’t appreciate the chiding comments over the loud speaker by the captain implying that it was everyone’s fault for not taking motion sickness meds prior to the trip, especially when our party had taken Dramamine the night before as well as the morning of our trip. Maybe instead of blaming his customers, the captain should’ve looked in the mirror and realized that he shouldn’t have taken the boat out that morning given the weather conditions and should be thinking more about safety than making a buck.

The captain did try multiple times to find good spots to fish but the ship was bouncing around so much that it was extremely difficult. I was even thrown ~3 feet into the boat’s railing from a large wave that hit when the captain had given us the go ahead to get up and fish. After 3 days I still have large and painful bruises on my left hip, thigh and arm from the impact.

It’s my understanding that since this trip all other scheduled fishing trips have been cancelled for this week due to the forecast of continued high winds and surf. I just wish thoughts about safety would’ve come one day earlier as I truly believe that this captain and company really didn’t have their clients best interest at heart.

At the end of the day, we spent over $600, had 3 people get seasick and got to take home a whopping total of 2 fish that we caught after 6 hours of fishing by 6 people. I completely get that you can’t control the weather, but I do think that this company didn’t do its due diligence to make sure that this would be a fun and safe trip.

Although you were warned it would be rough and given the opportunity to get off the boat for a full refund, you chose to go out on rough seas. Your family has written no fewer than 8 bad reviews because we won't give you a refund after the fact. On top of that, your story changes and embellishes fresh with each review. I've grown weary of being kind to you. You are not the normal kind of people who we take fishing. Please, for all of our sakes, rent a pontoon boat the next time you come to Destin and don't ever come fishing with us again.

With a party of 9 people, renting a smaller boat for us all to go fishing wasn't an option. The day we went out was a little choppy, so being on a larger boat was a good thing. The cabin was comfortable for us to hang out inside on the way out to where we fished. Once there the crew explained how to fish, the captain got us on fish, and it wasn't long before everyone in the party was catching fish. The deckhands were very helpful in helping us and keeping track of each party's fish. For the money this was an excellent time. The only complaint would be about allowing smoking on the boat - other people on the boat were smoking, which didn't help the members of our group that were feeling queasy from the choppy water. Overall, an excellent trip.

Wish I could give 1/2 stars. These guys deserve better than my 3 but I couldn’t do a 4. Took too long to get to our spot and moved around too much IMO. It’s been a long time and maybe I should have known better, but I took my 11-yo out for his first deep sea trip and the poles are just way too big and difficult to handle for most children. I had also forgotten how relatively unexciting the head boat fishing is. No casting or setting the hook and half of the 6 small fish I caught I didn’t even know were on the line until I got them to the surface.

The crew was great and we did get to see quite a few dolphin, but we will probably pay the piper next time and do a smaller boat that’s doing more action-oriented fishing, either on the gulf or maybe even inshore.
