What a great surprise! My husband and I had just walked around S. Pete Pier and were stading on the sidewalk when we saw the trolley and we asked for some information. Rafael, the driver, was super friendly and he invied us to hop on. We did, and had a great 30-minute ride around downtown St. Pete. Rafael was very knowledgeble about the history of the city, and he made sure to point all the historic buildings. We do recommend the Looper Trolley.

We were in town for four days to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Since were staying at an Airbnb on the west side of town, we wanted to drive in, park and take public transportation to our destinations. It's no secret tha wt driving downtown and finding parking at the various museums is a challenge. I had requested and received a copy of the "Downtown St. Petersburg Guide & Map" from the Discover Downtown St. Petersburg organization in Pinellas Park.
The guide and map were helpful not only in planning our trip but also learning about public transportation.
The Downtown Looper was a perfect fit for us. After walking from the Pier to the Dali Museum, we got on the colorful yellow and red Looper at the museum (Stop #14) and decided to take a city tour. The Looper has 20 stops that loop around downtown.
Our driver announced each stop and mentioned restaurants and attractions nearby. What a great and *free* way to see downtown while leaving the driving to the pros. The Looper runs every 15-20 minutes, 7 days a week. Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The schedule may vary due to traffic conditions, weather or unforeseen events. The Looper should not be confused with the Central Avenue Trolley, also free, that runs along Central Avenue from St. Peter Pier to Grand Central Station. Both trolleys share the same phone number but have different schedules.
When exiting the Looper please be certain to tip your driver who will get you to your destination safely and for free.

We had a hotel in downtown St Petersburg with limited parking. We had never been here before and happened to find out about their Looper Trolley. This is a free service the city offers to keep the number of cars down. There are about 20 stops on the route and the driver tells you things about the city as you pass them on the route. You can get off wherever you need to go. This was great for us! We left our car parked at our hotel, rode the trolley, and saved ourselves some time trying to find a place to park at the places we visited. CT was very cordial and helpful to us being new visitors to the city. Tips are appreciated by the drivers but not even mentioned. Great service in a great city!

While the driver was friendly, and energetic, the seats were uncomfortable and it was hot inside. It still was a nice escape from the outside heat and sun. From start to finish, one trip took around 40 minutes.

First trip to town? Go out to the pier on second avenue, go all the way out and park in the lot on the left, this is public parking and you will have to pay a modest amount. There are several options for getting around, read the signs and make your decision. Several of the options allow you to ride "FREE" around the downtown district. We took the "Downtown Looper" paid our $1 each (50 cents for Seniors) and took the extended tour. We tipped the driver when we got off downtown. Wandered around for a bit then caught the "Downtown Looper" back to the parking lot. This is really a pretty good way to get around and avoid parking issues.

We chose the Looper Trolley to tour downtown St. Petersburg as we had a short time in town and opted to not use the car. The Looper, as it is known, departs from the final stop, at Bay Front, and in a circle, tours the central loop along about 40 minutes when passengers are shown the main attractions in the area, including the museums, churches, monuments, the century-old buildings, restaurants, the bay front, cafes, bars and more. Just 50 cents per person is the fare for the tour. Passengers can can hop off and hop on back for free at any stop on the flat fare zone (the Looper map shows which are these stops), or for an additional 50 cents more per person at any other stop outside the flat fare zone.

After a nice lunch in the newly revitalized SunDial St Petes Mall my wife and I wanted to see the so called progress on the revitalizing of the pier. To our surprise there has been no apparent progress. So we hopped on the Looper for the ride back to Beach Drive.
Terrance was our driver and hilarious at that. He was sincerely interested where all those that boarded were from. As he "looped" the neighbourhood he noted points of interest and gave reviews of the different restaurants and all for the extreme fare of $0.50 per ride!

What a wonderful way to see downtown St. Petersburg! Our driver was friendly and informative. He gave us a lot of history on the area while driving safely through the busy streets. $3.00 to park and a $0.50 bus ride! What a steal!

We were bored so we decided to go to St Pete, we live close by ,but never really toured around St. Pete before. We parked at the pier , costs only 3.00 for the entire day, the trolley picks you up right there, the cost is 50 cents, 25 cents for seniors, just make sure you have the correct change.we only waited 5 minutes and we boarded the troley, we did the troley loop and decided where we wanted to get off to browse or visit , so second loop around we got off at the Second stop, there are a bunch of little stores , tea shops, coffee shops, ice cream and gelato store, jewelry stores and restaurants. I bought some jewelry , we had some icecream and bought some chocolate. We got back on the trolley and we got off at the Dali museum , walked over the the airport, and had lunch at the airport hanger restaurant, I will pit that in a separate review, then we walked back to the Dali museum, which I will also write a review on, back on the trolley and back to the pier, took a nice dolphin site seeing cruise. It was the perfect day!
