If people don't go to hear these AMAZING artists, you have wasted one of the biggest reasons for living in St. Petersburg, Fla. We were so impressed with the musicians we've heard here in St. Pete last year at THe Edge, Manhattan Casino, the Hangar, THe Don Cesar, Javier at Ceviche --we bought a place here - for the music! Upon returning this year, we find that some of the brilliant musicians, (Fabulous Jaimie Suggs, also including Katz from The Blue Parrot ---and more, now gather at The Amsterdam (and for monthlly jams at the Hangar and Manhattan Casino). Brilliant drummers, keyboardists-- last Tuesday at athe Amsterdam - hate that I didn't get their names ---We feel so lucky to hear these guys. You will too. DO yourself a favor -- before you can only hear some of these guys in arena size settings. The Amsterdam, every Tuesday night --8 or so until Midnight. (Wish they'd get some better wine choices -for beer, think you're covered.)

Excellent beer and interesting atmosphere. Local artist displays unique busts of actual residents of the area with some "added features". Nicely decorated, clean bathrooms!

Want to hear some great Jazz? Tuesday night is Jazz Jam night hosted by James Suggs. Other musicians are invited to jam during the evening. Bar has a great selection of beer.

This place is awesome. Owners/Staff could not be nicer! Nice craft beer selection. Meticulously maintained. Am eager to see how they grow and increase their presence... Oh and they have a sweet and mellow bar dog, Sparticus. I am a total sucker for a well behaved pooch. Cheers Amsterdam - we wish you much success!

Went to the Amsterdam on a tip from the hotel my GF and I were staying at. Bar has a great atmosphere, with great beer selection. Don't have to worry about getting a beer you don't like, they have small sample cups to try it out first. Their knowledge of the different beers was amazing, and were happy to take the time to try and help match you up to one you would like, according to the styles you prefer.

We recently drove to St. Pete for a Rays game, made the ubiquitous visit to a local sports bar (wont name it out of respect for reviewing another place) and then stumbled upon The Amsterdam. It's perfect in so many aspects . . . hip and funky, but not in an unwelcoming, "I'm going to out-cool you" kind of way. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. The Amsterdam serves craft beers and this manna from heaven, also known as, fish dip - I believe our bartender said that this is the only food item they have (no kitchen) and that it is made locally for them . . . halleluiah!
