St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour

95 reviews
The Jungle Prada Site Tour explores the last 1,000 years of Florida history at one of most important historical landmarks in Tampa Bay. Jungle Prada was the site of a Tocobaga Indian village for over 600 years, and it is generally recognized as the 1528 landing place of Panfilo de Narvaez and Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. Discover one the best-preserved American Indian mounds in all of Florida on this 75-minute guided historical walking adventure. We will escort you to the top of the private Anderson/Narvaez mound, a 900-foot-long, 25-foot-high shell midden. This family-owned property also boasts a 3-acre, Florida-friendly waterfront garden, a small museum with archaeological artifacts from the site, and dozens of free-roaming peacocks. The tour is full of fantastic story telling. It's an immersive historical and botanical experience that should not be missed. Reservations and facemasks are required. Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people.

I come to St Pete for the winter and always like to try out different yoga studios. I have really enjoyed Body Electric. The instructors are excellent. I enjoy a more traditional practice with music, chanting and readings, so this really fits the bill for me. The selection of class types is pretty broad, so it is easy to find one that fits. 5 and 10 class passes last forever.

I have been practicing yoga for about the past 5 years and I have lived in Orlando, Atlanta, and Boston but have not found a better studio than Body Electric. I have tried probably over 20 different studios in major cities however this one is the best! Specifically Katelyn Grady's classes. Whenever I am in town I specifically make time in my schedule to go to one of her classes. She is a phenomenal teacher. She makes me laugh while in plank pose which is a very difficult thing to do. She is kind, welcoming, and never judges anyone based not heir level of yoga practice. Each of her classes is different and focuses on many different themes. I recommend her class and really any teacher here's class. You will not regret it and you will leave happy and stronger. THANK YOU KATELYN for always bringing so much happiness and strength to my practice!

I am a yoga instructor from Miami - recently moved to the area. I explored quite a few studios in the area over the past couple months before my search ultimately led me to Body Electric - where my journey will now continue indefinitely! This is an excellent yoga studio/ community for absolutely ANYONE. Whether you are entirely new to the practice or a master yogi, you will find what you need here. The location is great - situated in the middle of a neighborhood that has a very peaceful and safe feel. The studio itself is a renovated ice cream factory - it is a very large space and it is BEAUTIFUL. Warm, friendly energy greets you as soon as you walk through the front door, and the staff are genuinely kind and always helpful. They offer a wide variety of classes that change often - 3 separate, huge rooms and many different instructors - all of them with a completely unique teaching style, but also all incredibly welcoming, motivating and clearly in love with the practice and this community. They also offer various workshops, beach days/SUP yoga and many host other fun events throughout the year. It seems that there are plenty of additional exciting events going on within this community throughout the year as well - workshops, bookclubs, beach days/SUP yoga, poolside yoga, etc . I definitely recommend checking this studio out - even for someone only visiting the area with time for a single class. You will love your experience here.

I spent the winter in St. Petersburg and was looking for a welcoming studio. The facility is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and there are numerous classes throughout the day at various levels. In my experience, they welcome people at all levels - there are a number of very accomplished yogis who practice there, and then there are people like me whose practice is a little more pedestrian. Doesn't matter. You should be aware that some of the classes are fairly large. Twenty to thirty or more is not uncommon. You're not going to get a lot of adjustment or individual attention in the big, popular classes as there simply isn't time. But you will get knowledgeable teachers who are enthusiastic and creative and have a sense of fun.
