Went to the Tampa Bay Blues Festival for three days. The music was fantastic but the venue was awful. Most of the grass was over taken by sand and dirt. Every day all of us came home filthy. Our feet, legs, clothes and backpacks. Not sure what the dirt was but we had to scrub it off our bodies and wash our clothes.
After paying for flights, tickets, rental cars, food and accommodations this was extremely disappointing. Probably never go back.

The park is all dirt. There is hardly any grass. For the Mainsail Art Festival, it was terrible. Dirt, dirt, dirt. And it was impossible for me to see most of
the exhibits because I can not maneuver my power wheelchair through dirt like this. Put some grass down if you are going to have events here. Hello? ADA?

This is a beautiful place to walk and not feel like a tourist! The path is paved and easy to follow. There is also an area with chairs and a dog park!

This is really the perfect park for a picnic, a bike ride, a walk, or just afternoon and nightly stroll. I absolutely loved this spot and would recommend to anyone near downtown Saint Pete. Some tremendous views of the bay, marine life, and palm trees. They also had pop up shops and music festival when I visited. Too bad I was staying in Tampa or I would have me a return trip!

Vinoy Park is another great waterfront park to spend some time in walking, relaxing, biking, or any of another number of activities. This well maintained and well used waterfront park is great way to spend a couple of hours on a beautiful afternoon.

We love coming to this park and walking around and seeing all the people riding their bikes and families walking around. Cute place to hang out for a hour or two.

May I bring a cooler with beverages for the Pops in the Park event at Vinoy.
Can you bring a battery-powered fan into Vinoy Park during a concert
Glen K

Hello,
Thank you for your question about Vinoy Park. I am not sure if you can or can't bring in a battery powered fan into a concert. That all depends upon the concert promoters and security for the event.
My best advice is to ask where you purchased the tickets from as they should be able to answer that question better then I can since this can vary depending on the event. I regret for not being able to better directly answer your question, however I want you to get the correct answer.
Enjoy the concert as I have seen a few acts there myself.

Are there bike racks for me to lock up my bike outside of the park while attending reggae rise up festival?
Joy B
Warren, MI88 contributions
I am pretty sure there are bike racks. I know there are some areas where you can rent bikes too. The parks are such great place to do so many activities, It is bike, pedestrian, family, pet friendly. People are doing so many activities there.
Can you bring a beach umbrella, 10x10 pavilion, beach tent or any other form of shade? Can you bring your own water?
Ray M
St. Petersburg, FL72 contributions
You can bring both water and umbrellas at events, but a 10 X 10 beach tent isn't allowed for concerts at the venue...Other times it's ok.

I am going to Sunshine Blues fest. I am having trouble walking. Is there anywhere for disabled to be dropped off. I can't do that long walk anymore. Help please. Thanks!
Ray M

The city of St. Petersburg recommends that you contact them directly for a disabled drop-off location.

I was considering buying reserved seating VIP however I'm worried about being an out in the sun all day is there any cover for that area?
Michele M
St. Petersburg, FL111 contributions
If you are going to a concert there at Vinoy Park, do NOT plan on having access to any pavilions, or even vendor tents to provide you with shade. There are no permanent pavilions in the park, and it can get quite hot on a sunny day, particularly during the late spring and summer months.

Is there parking for RV motorcoaches anywhere near the park?
Jane
West Palm Beach, FL117 contributions
Hi...With the construction, narrow streets and copious pedestrians, I would not attempt to drive an RV into this area. Best to come by boat, actually...
Can you bring small coolers in the park?
Ray M
St. Petersburg, FL72 contributions
This park is in fact an open park but is enclosed by portable fences for concerts in the open air. Coolers are NOT permitted during concerts, nor are outside food or drinks. At any other time when there is no event going on that is a pay event you may bring a small cooler.

How does viewing the 2 stages work. I only see one stage on the seat map. And, how's viewing from the general admission area with a chair?
Thanks.
Sharon V
St. Petersburg, FL18 contributions
really depends on the venue where they choose to put the stages. you will need to contact them to find out the lay out
What is security like when you attend festivals? Are you allowed to bring in bags, and are they checked?
Sharon V
St. Petersburg, FL18 contributions
Depends on the event. Bags are checked. Security is very visable. Some events like blues fest you can bring lawn chairs. You would need to check before attending. There are 2 parking lots but some events they are full. However, you can park further away and take the trolley. Seating including covered is available at some events if you buy vip packages. Hope this info helps
