St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour

122 reviews
The Jungle Prada Site Tour explores the last 1,000 years of Florida history at one of most important historical landmarks in Tampa Bay. Jungle Prada was the site of a Tocobaga Indian village for over 600 years, and it is generally recognized as the 1528 landing place of Panfilo de Narvaez and Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. Discover one the best-preserved American Indian mounds in all of Florida on this 75-minute guided historical walking adventure. We will escort you to the top of the private Anderson/Narvaez mound, a 900-foot-long, 25-foot-high shell midden. This family-owned property also boasts a 3-acre, Florida-friendly waterfront garden, a small museum with archaeological artifacts from the site, and dozens of free-roaming peacocks. The tour is full of fantastic story telling. It's an immersive historical and botanical experience that should not be missed. Reservations and facemasks are required. Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people.

Flute & Dram hit all the Right notes! Great music, Hot Topic (band), great bottle of sparkling Rose and a nice intimate ambience that smacks of small venues in Chicago and Nashville. I’d like to think I could return again and again having the same experience. It was the perfect storm:) It had just started raining outside and the lead singer, bass player for Hot Topic invited me and my friend in for music. Her friendliness was echoed by the nice server who took gook care of us. The small intimate decor also had a nice long open window for those not minding a lil rain on their backs. The Wine Champagne list was extensive. I would love to celebrate something special with an elevated selection. But, would be elated to repeat my reasonable rose with the excellent music as a special occasion, too!!!!

Heavenly day to sit at the bar, people watch, and listen to the music. Great live music always. Champagne flight was perfect and pretty while caviar chips were creative and tasty. One of the best bartenders we’ve had here for craft cocktails.

Among so many options by the pier, this was the one we found as the cozier. We were lucky to drop by at their Happy Hour and had the melon+prosciutto and the table of chesses, along with a nice Chardonnay...what else can a person want???

They Had Me at “Champagne” I had walked past the Flute & Dram several times during my March visit, but suddenly a sign caught my eye, a quote from Coco Chanel, regarding the only times she drinks Champagne - that was all it took. Though my wife and I were basically walking back to our hotel, after a wine tasting around the corner, we decided that a glass of Champagne would clear our palates, before dinner, and that was just the ticket. We sat on the sidewalk - there is also seating in front of a little service window on the street, and maybe a lot more inside - but we did not venture in, as it was a lovely afternoon, and watching people walk along Beach Dr, with a flute of Champagne in hand, seemed ideal. While I was tempted by the split of Krug, I held off - we had just had a bunch of wine, and were going to have even more with dinner, so instead, my wife got one of her favorite non-vintage Champagnes, the Taittinger Brut La Francaise Cuvée NV, and I went with the Nicolas Feuillatte Blanc de Blanc NV. We then spent a wonderful half-hour, watching the world go by, on an early Spring afternoon. Our server was great, as was the Champagne - what more could one ask for, and besides, during most of this trip, my wife was in meetings, and even when dining, most were business dinners, so to sit with her, and not hear business being discussed, was an extra bonus!
