The MFA is in a wonderful building, classic Spanish cloister to which has been added a modern wing with a café in between. The collection is in the "one of everything" school of moderate sized museums. A good range of periods among the paintings and some interesting period rooms. While the periods are fairly obvious, the artists represented are often... More

The MFA has a decent permanent collection. It is not terribly well organized though. The temporary exhibits during my visit were just okay. It is rather pricey for what you get. Worth an hour or two of your stay in the area. Perhaps a guided tour may have helped.

It's a medium sized art museum, but of good quality. We enjoyed our visit there. It's located in a nice part of st Pete with restaurants and other attractions

Very nice museum on the waterfront. Nice selection of contemporary and classic artists featured. We were there for a special exhibit of Innuit art & an exhibit on artistic contributions of Latinos. They have a number of little "secret garden" outdoor courtyards you can explore which I really enjoyed.

For a small museum, you can still see Monet, Renoir & O'Keefe. The building is lovely and the location on Beach Drive offers lots of lunch spots.

I decided to go to this museum mostly because it was open on New Year's Day. I joined a very interesting docent tour (Frank?) that gave a great overview with interesting details of the art on display- which included Monet, O'Keefe, and Hooper. There was really a wide variety of art which exceeded my expectations. One of my favorites was... More

Save your money. The same tired pieces, not the least bit inspiring. It's not much to see. Save your money and have a nice meal out. A legend in its own mind; maybe it was nice at one time, but now it's just tired.

Dear Florida Gal, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and we are sorry you felt that way about your experience with us. We have had such wonderful reviews, lately, and wanted to respond to you. We have over 20,000 works of art (not all on display, of course) and we change them out periodically. We have... More

I've chaired an annual Gala/banquet there four years in a row. Excellent venue. The museum is a bit stuffy though, not fun like the Dali. Guards are all over the place to make sure you don't touch anything. I don't have a problem with that but it's just noteworthy.

Came here because boyfriend wanted to go and it was his birthday...he understands and appreciates art much more than I. He liked it so I guess its a place to visit if you are the same. Interesting collection...just not my thing.

I found the collection boring. There was one Rockwell, and two O'Keefe as well as a Monet or two and Cezanne. But, all in all I wasn't that impressed. We were the only people in the museum on a Wednesday afternoon. Oh well.
