I hadn't been to this museum since the early 90's on a college fieldtrip. We were back in the area and decided to visit the museum. The museum had a diverse collection and some very desirable works. The museum gift shop is one of the best art shops I have seen in most museums.

Sorry I wrote a review thinking this was the science museum.... Not the museum of fine arts. The fine arts museum had many different parts of it to explore. We enjoyed it since it was part of the hop on hop off trolley tour and go pass. Probably would not have done it otherwise. Not an artsy type person. More... More

Several paintings of my favorite American artists and Impressionists are featured in this museum. It was an enjoyable two hours worth, but I don't think young children would find it all that enjoyable.

This museum is in a wonderful location: the yachts behind it and restaurants, shops, and galleries in front of it across the street. Monet, Renoir, ancient and modern art, sculptures, exhibitions, it is all there to take in. Highly recommended for a superbly pleasant afternoon.

First, I insist on being greeted by Richard Hall's Gathering at Church Entrance. Then I continue into the Museum which never fails to surprise me. Each time I connect with another piece of art. The permanent collection is diverse and inspiring as are the imaginative exhibits.

As well as an outstanding permanent collect of art of all areas ,they have a Marly Music Summer Concert Series. We heard a young cellist, Clancy Newman, accompanied by Noreen Cassidy-Polera on the piano last Sunday. The program consisted of Rachmaninoff to Newman's own compositions with variations on popular pop music. Several more concerts are coming in July and August... More

Fantastic museum. Very diverse collection. Building is very nice in a wonderful area of town. Reasonable admission. Parking was a bit tricky, although no fault of the museum. Around the museum, there appears to be a two hour parking limit everywhere. Fantastic views of the water surround the museum. We took our time and looked at every single exhibit. The... More

Can't really say much except WOW! They had a local exhibit with black and white photographs there were amazing. Lots of art of diverse types. Better than the Dali. Yes, I said that!

If you are looking for a really high end art museum you won't find it here but there are some paintings and sculptures worth seeing. There are a few impressionist paintings by the best known painters and some other objects of interest. The special exhibit on high speed photography was notable ( this was a traveling exhibit and I am... More
