Great Museum

Been to a lot of museums and this one is right up there with the best. It has many different types of art not just paintings. Definitely would recommend visiting this museum.

I have been a member for 5 years. I love Nan Colton as the artist in residence. Art in Bloom marries the permanent collections' artwork with floral art that is breathtakingly beautiful! The exhibitions are phenomenal for a 'smaller' museum. And don't forget to try out the museum's cafe! A delightful place to have brunch or lunch. I particularly enjoyed... More

They have interesting traveling shows as well as a wonderful collection. Their photography collection has few rivals anywhere. The cafe has good food.

Founded in 1965 and housed in a beautiful building at 255 Beach Drive Northeast on St. Petersburg's bayfront, the art collections in the Museum of Fine Arts are the most comprehensive on Florida's West Coast, expanding from antiquity to the present day. Established by Margaret Acheson Stuart, who died in 1980, the museum displays more than 20,000 objects that cover... More

Located near the Marina at St Petersburg, is the museum of fine arts, full of things to see and experience. A little pricey to enter ($17 to enter), however, for me worth it just to see two works :- 'Poppy' by Georgia O'Keefe and 'Julie as Flora' by Elizabeth Vigee Lebrun Both are truly amazing and make for wonderful contrasts.... Came here as a Reciprocal member from Ringling Museum. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits. We liked the way that the permanent exhibits were placed. Simply said, from the oldest eras to the newest. I must say we were totally satisfied with our experience.

Great location right at bay side. Collections cover a bit of everything. Some nice Monets on display. Wish they had more porcelain and silver objects. Very nice for a small museum.

Wow is all I can say about the latest Moulton exhibit - they're videos instead of your standard "art" but she did a fantastic job putting human conditions & the "pot healer" was my favorite - ASK someone where that one is - it's great & captivating. Don't really understand that type of art but I do know I enjoyed... More

We came at 3:45 pm and were greeted by friendly reception desk man. Given that the museum will close at 5, he quickly guided us on how best to view the museum. The collection was varied and we enjoyed looking at the various paintings, murals, sculptures. The garden was closed at this time due to the rain and renovation. The... More

My experience didn't start very well, when I walked through an entrance to the museum and was met by a less-than-happy security guard who told me my water bottle had to be emptied and turned in for the duration of my visit. After checking in my empty water bottle (coat check style), I took my claim ticket and proceeded to... More

Andrew, Thank you for your review of the MFA. I am glad you were able to include us in your stops, but wanted to clarify a few points, so we can continue to improve our visitor experience. The security guard is, of course, supposed to greet people with a smile, so I am sorry he was "less than happy" on... More
