This is a wonderful adventure for people who love the outdoors. This is a large park with wooded walkways over what is basically a swamp with all kinds of fauna. There are huge ferns which reminded me of some prehistoric movies. Wildlife abounds including alligators, raccoons, armadillos, birds, ducks, snakes and fish. You are on a walkway above these creatures... More

This park is nice, but it is hard to truly unplug with the sound of cars zooming by off the local expressway. A good solution might be headphones.

We spotted six baby alligators in three different location. Tons of native birds and other wildlife to spot. You can even visit this place on a hot summer day because the walking boardwalk paths are pretty much shaded. Plenty of parking, place for you to picnic. Only negative thing is no dogs allowed on the boardwalks. Great place to catch... More

The park was very pleasant, and had lots to see. there were turtles, alligators, butterflies, fish, lots of birds and more. My only suggestion would be that some garbage bins be placed along the boardwalks, but other than that, it was great.

This is a great local park - never crowded. You will usually always see wildlife -, birds, fish, alligators. It has easy boardwalk walking and a small education center.

The park has an area inside you can visit for information on the animals you may see. There is an area you can bring eats and sit. Walk the boardwalk to get through the park while seeing gators, birds, turtles and more.

After going through a neighborhood you will be amazed at this wide open natural area! Wildlife abounds, from numerous bird species to arachnids to alligators there is never a still moment! The boardwalk intertwines with a canopy of oaks which is soooo peaceful and serene! It is just a wonderful place to spend a couple hours away from the busy... More

Sawgrass Lake Park is great! Lots of wildlife like birds, turtles, armadillos, raccoons and of course, alligators. You might visit during mating season to hear a male calling for the female or see little baby gators being protected by their mom. Walk along the boardwalk to the observation tower or wander through the dirt trails. There are also nice areas... More

We had a few hours to kill one afternoon in St Petersburg and decided to give this park a visit. What a lovely little gem. Easily walkable with boardwalks above the water. Trails short enough to be easily finished but long enough to cover interesting portions of the part. Wide variety of inspects, butterflies, birds and alligators. All for FREE.

Really cool place, with some great trails! If you look closely you can find baby alligators in the water on both sides of the bridge you are walking on! Some pretty birds as well! Would recommend! Saw a giant turtle walking across the turtle crossing!
