I would never recommend this excursion to anyone. My husband and I have done many excursions over the years, and this made it to the far bottom of the list. Of the two captains, one seemed friendly, but not overly so. The other one did nothing but bark at passengers and at the co-captain. We were taken to Egmont Key and given the choice to bone up on our snorkeling skills (no fish to be seen, but just practice) or to simply explore the little island. Had this been part of the description of the excursion, we would have known to bring insect repellent. BRING SOME if you choose to take this excursion and walk explore at all. As our boat backed out, one captain must have done something wrong, so the grumpy captain barked at him again as they fixed the issue. Did we really need to hear that on our paid excursion? We then went to open water to snorkel, but after a solid 10 minutes of the captains trying to anchor the boat, we were told that the visibility wouldn't be good, and we were heading to the other side of Egmont Key to snorkel instead. No visibility there, either, but supposedly it was clear earlier that morning. We got into the water anyway, and never saw anything farther than our hand in front of our faces. To me, snorkeling in murky ocean makes me a little uneasy, so this was not a good time. I can't blame them for the visibility, but the captains should take blame for the over all atmosphere of the excursion itself. What a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
