This gives our guests the most personalized service and best wildlife viewing opportunities. Explore mangrove islands, watch for dolphins and manatee, or catch a beautiful sunset in the Shell Key Preserve. Fantastic Kayaking Tour, Great Guides!

Had a great experience with Coastal Kayak Charters. The tour was organized, on time, and incredibly fun.

The guides Taylor and Stephen were phenomenal. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made great conversation. They even went above and beyond and offered to drive our group to a nearby restaurant after the tour, as we were tourists relying mainly on walking and Uber.

If you are visiting St. Pete’s, I highly recommend you take this tour. It’s affordable and the water, mangroves, beaches and wildlife are beautiful.

Awesome trip through a mangrove forest and a stop to look for shells and swim. What made it perfect was seeing two dolphins within ten feet of our kayaks. Our guide Ross was great. He got to know us a little bit and had plenty of stories and knowledge of the area and wildlife to share. We will definitely be back to explore again

Awesome kayak excursion

This trip was everything promised. I would highly recommend this company. They were well organized and knowledgeable, gave great instructions and tips without being condescending to inexperienced kayakers. If you are a beginner do not hesitate to book with this group. It was obvious they have a great respect and knowledge of the coastal area. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Doug.

Small Group Kayak Tour Shell Key Preserve

This tour was phenomenal in every way! Doug, our guide, kept us engaged with his enthusiasm and a wealth of interesting information and kept us entertained with his wonderful sense of humor. He even took fantastic pictures of each person or couple on the tour, creating priceless memories that we will cherish forever. The places we visited were beautiful, special, and magical. This is an unforgettable experience; please don’t pass up the opportunity to take this tour!

Disappointing guides.

Beautiful day on the water. Kayaks were in good condition. Would love to give a better review but was very disappointed in the guides. Did not seem knowledgeable, mostly stayed far ahead of us. Minimal interaction. Did not bother to try to make sure we could hear them on the few times they talked to the group. On the last leg back they were 70 yards ahead of our group and for at least 8 to 10 minutes never looked back.I hope the owner fixes this issue. I’m afraid based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Bonnie I'm not surprised you left this review. You were a problem child from the start, and the guide made every effort to slow the group down and tried to make every accommodation for you. But the fact is that the guide also has to lead and direct the group because they don't know the way. Even your husband was 70 yards ahead of you and left you behind. As for the guide not being knowledgeable... there's no point in dignifying that silly notion with a response.

Awesome Tour for Locals and Visitors

Had a great time today with Ross and the team. While I have been a resident of St Pete for 23 years I saw a whole new side today! Great to get out of the house, enjoy the sun and the beautiful environment we get to live in. Great way to spend time with people AND social distance!

Beautiful scenery - great guides - book it!

Booked this tour last minute and was able to be accommodated. Taylor and Olivia were terrific guides, full of fun facts and information, and very personable! Great tour - well worth every penny! The private beach stop was amazing!

While on our Momcation my friend and I booked a tour! We had Doug as our tour guide. Doug was an awesome guide! He knew so much about the local animals/ sea life/ birds/ plants! The mangrove tunnel was so fun, aside from a couple times we got stuck. J/k it was so much fun! Thank you Doug and the whole crew for an amazing tour. 😉

Great Kayaking Fantastic Guides!

My wife and I were looking for a Kayak Tour and after reading Trip Advisor reviews we decided on Coastal Kayak Charters. Boy were we happy we did! First of all Doug and Ross our guides were some of the nicest knowledgeable people around. They greeted us with a smile and went over the use and safety of the kayaks and emphasized having a fun and a relaxing time. We have kayaked a few times but are no means experts and we had a blast. Doug and Ross help people get in an out of the Kayaks and are very easy going. We had a group of five people. Three used single and my wife and I used a double Kayak. We started out in some pretty calm water and paddled around some small islands on our way to Shell island about 1 Hour. DOUG and Ross pointed out many birds and explained how the Mangrove Islands are formed. We took a 30 minute break on Shell island looking for shells and checking out the views. On our way back we went through a mangrove tunnel. My wife and I in our 50’s had a great time. Would highly recommend!! Thank you Doug and Ross!!

This was such a wonderful experience! Doug was a great guide and you don't really need any kayaking experience as it is not strenuous at all. The equipment was all well maintained and he even had some extra water and snacks when we stopped at Shell Key. Our children (12 & 14) enjoyed it just as much as we did and we all learned new things! You really can't go wrong with this tour and I highly recommend it!
