Many sunset boating cruises include food and booze, music and dancing. If you after something more basic, and economical, this is it. We toured the inland waterway for 45 minutes and then, passing Shell Key, we stopped for the sunset over the gulf and the bottlenose dolphins. The weather was perfect; the sunset was beautiful; the dolphins were curious and... More

Shell Key is the place to find sea shells. It is a natural island with no amenities. The shuttle is a very inexpensive way to get to the key, traveling three times a day at two-hour intervals. The guys who run the boat are quick and friendly. If you need someone fussing over you, this is not that kind of... More

My husband and I visited Florida for the three days prior to Thanksgiving this year. We wanted to find some shells and we debated about going on the trip. We were very pleased with the staff and the trip over to get shells. We found many sand dollars and very large shells. If you are unsure about whether to fit... More

The shuttle departs at 10am-noon and 2pm. Returns at 12:15-2:15 and 4:15. We found that 2 hours of shell hunting was plenty of time. It takes about 10 mins from slip to island, wich is mostly preserved, except for the beach area. Being originally from NJ, and many visits to shore points, I was shocked to see the shells, stacked... A short, enjoyable boat ride takes you to Shell Key, just minutes from the end of St. Pete and Pass-a-Grill. It might seem expensive at $25 a person but for us was so worth some more secluded, amazing beach access and great shelling. There are not amenities (food or restrooms) on this protected key, but just lots of wonderful beach... More

We recently enjoyed an afternoon on the island, but because of their planned evening cruise, our time was cut short. We did not receive a reduced rate and for such a basic service, the shuttle is overpriced. Once we were on the island, we had a great time shelling and found some great stuff. We wish we could have stayed... More

Unfortunately for a several weeks this time of year we do have to pick up 15-20 minutes early (on the 4 days a week that we offer sunset cruises) because the sun sets very early (around 5:30). Whenever that is the case we make sure everyone knows at check-in, before paying, that the last pick up will be a few... More

We had a great time on the boat ride to the little island where there were hundreds of species of birds, shells and other marine life!

My boyfriend and I found this on trip advisor! We went while on vacation, and we were in awe. It was so beautiful. There was only a few of us on the island so that made it really special. We stayed on the island for almost 5 hours, we found amazing shells. And swam around it the water for almost... More
