We paid 25.00 per person for a ride to Shell Island; the fare included use of their beach umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. The ride is short and not narrated which was a little disappointing. Nancy was very friendly and answered questions but other than that it was a quiet ride both ways. The island is full of shells and two... More

We paid $25 per person for this Shell Island 2 hour trip. Unfortunately, after we had paid a storm showed up on their radar which they watch diligently. We did get on the shuttle boat and as we approached the island the captain saw lighting and said he could not drop us at the island which was ok by us.... More

I recently visited Shell Key and took the Shell Key Shuttle. The captain and first mate were first rate. I was late to the pier but they waited for me and met me on the dock with a collection bag and several bottles of water and told me I could pay when we returned later that afternoon. They offer free... More

About a 45 minute drive from Clearwater Beach. Phone first to confirm shuttle times and weather. We bought tickets for the shuttle on site. The shuttle ride itself is about 15 minutes long. They provide you with snorkeling gear and a sun umbrella as part of your shuttle fee if you want them. They also provide an all day parking... More

The Shell Key Shuttle isn't very well advertised - in fact although our hotel was only a 10 minute drive along St Pete's beach the staff hadn't heard of it and had no idea where it was! In a way that's a good thing because it isn't one of those overcrowded day trips. The shuttle boat takes only 10 mins... More

We were very very afraid that this would wind up being just another costly, fake, touristy attraction. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Shell Island was indeed what it's title depicts! It has a wide variety of shells, and lots of them. You can find them on the beach and in the shallows. The island is dedicated to preservation,... More

Easy trip from Clearwater. There was construction, but, we got around it. Boat takes you to island. Lots of shells to find! They give you an umbrella and snorkeling gear. No bathrooms.. go before you leave. Take towels, snacks and water if you are going to be there 3 hours or more. Highly recommended. Kind, friendly, helpful staff!

My husband and our 2 kids went on the shell key shuttle. The boat ride was quick and the staff super nice! The Island is so beautiful!!! You will feel like you're on a secluded tropical island! Awesome shells to find. My husband found a sand dollar. They give you an umbrella and snorkel gear, which was great. We stayed... More

It's a short boat ride where you literally get dropped off on the island. There is a few shuttles a day or maybe even 1-2 hours, but once you are out there--You are there until the shuttle comes back. You can get shells, and we found a ton, in the water and walking around. As for the shuttle, the staff... More

We provide our guests with a beach umbrella, mask and snorkel and a shell bag but it is never a bad idea to bring extra umbrellas if you have them. We give each group of 3-4 one umbrella, larger groups get 2 or 3 depending on the size of the group. Thank you for the nice review. More

We took the shuttle from here to Shell Key. Loved it!! If you can, walk as far as you can away from where the shuttle drops you off! The shelling is way better and there is hardly anyone over there! Make sure to get a mask and snorkel when you get off the shuttle!!
