Wonderful beautiful beach. The weather was perfect mid 60s. Very walkable are with many restaurants close by. The traffic was heavy at times. Other conveniences are close by a Publix grocery on the Main Street

The sunset is beautiful from the beach. The staff works very hard to keep the beach clean and organized. It was a pleasure to spend New Years on the beach.

I was impressed with the size of the beach and all its white sand. You have many choices along the beach to stop for food and drinks. Many choices for water sports are available.

St. Pete Beach is a gorgeous, wide beach lined with hotels, condos and restaurants. We enjoy walking the beach in the early morning, lots of shells and seabirds. The sunsets are incredible.

This beach is unique because it is beautiful and has bars and restaurants up and down the beach. Parking can be difficult during weekends and peak holidays. Do not park in areas that are private as you will be sorry!

Hi. It’s per hour I think ( the meters). However, some hotels will let you park if you use their bars or beach service. If you go outside the peak times ( summer/holidays) you can always find parking in the surrounding... More

There are a few FB pages you can join and people post about it hourly. Search Clean Water Movement or Red Tide and you will easily find them.

St. Pete Beach and St. Augustine (4 Replies)
Hi we were planning a trip to St Augustine the end of October. The direct flight for our area flies into PIE so we stumbled across St Pete while looking for a spot close to the airport for the night before our return. However the area looks so great and more reasonably priced, that I am now wondering..is it worth splitting the week between the two? Is there that much of a difference in what can be seen and done in St Pete vs St Augustine? Are there any types of historical sites in the area to...More

The areas have such different things to offer that I think it would be best for you to split the time between the two. The Atlantic and Gulf beaches are very different, from the color and fineness of the sand to the color and action of the water. Both are beautiful in their own ways. Check out both and determine which you prefer! As Vic said, SPB does not have a lot of historically significant sites, but there are a few things worth checking out. Heritage Village in nearby Largo is an...More

I am doing a two week escape by myself and would like to not have to drive so much. I do love Sarasota particularly st Armand's but it is a distance from the beach Is there a walkable town near st pete

Actually, it is just a few hundred yards from St Armands to Lido key beach. I stayed at the holiday inn there, across from t he beach, and st armands was less than 5 mins walk away? St pete has large hotels on the beach, there is something in walking distance wherever you stay, but more in some areas than others. Siesta Key beach has walkable areas, so stay near the Village, or stay at Crescent beach where there are a few shops/restaurants. Anna Maria island, esp Bradenton Beach is...More

St. Pete Beach vs. Siesta Key Fl. ? (2 Replies)
Just visited St. Pete this year and really enjoyed it. Would like to try another new part of Florida next visit. Does anyone know the difference between Siesta Key and St. Pete?
