About
I've lived in the Tampa area for over 12 years & have paddled the waterways with my children & friends to Islands, sandbars, grassflats, oyster beds and mangrove shorelines. I decided to share my most exciting locations for travelers to experience with our Glass Bottom LED lighted Kayaks at night. We'll feed fish up close which is just one of the rare events you'll experience on our kayak tour!

It was a beautiful, clear May night and the sky was filled with stars during our glass bottom tour. The guide seemed highly knowledgeable but I was rarely close enough to him to hear what he was saying (there were approx 10 kayaks so all of us could not be close enough to hear the guide at one time). Even though we didn't see much wildlife other than the catfish we fed, it was still a wonderful experience and one I would do again.

experience was overall very good. the owner was very friendly and communicated very well with our group. he made sure that we knew where to go and what to expect and even told us about a mangrove tunnel we could go through. the kayaking was very fun and our group enjoyed the day tour very much and we are looking forward to going back to do the night tour.

We booked this for the boys. They thoroughly enjoyed the nighttime experience. James was their guide and he really made the trip a great time. This place was organized, communicated well and all employees were friendly & personable. I highly recommend.

Dont know about the tour, but they would not validate the gift card that our family gave us and had been purchased online. They told me it was not a valid number?!!
I have called three different days and was told each time that someone would return my call within 24 hours. No one ever called. I emailed a copy of the gift card to their address shown on the web and got no response to that either.
No sure what is going on here, but I would NOT purchase any gift cards.

My mom booked with Sharkey's Glass Bottom Tours for my sisters 17th Birthday Celebration. I personally didn't get to go due to injuries I have, but my family did it and had the BEST time! It's such a unique experience and a hidden gem on St. Pete Beach. Definitely worth doing!

My daughter, myself, and several others arrived earlier than 8:15 when we were instructed to be there. The tour got canceled due to weather which is understandable. What wasn’t understandable is that the crew took off at 8:05. Not waiting for the rest of the guests to show up to let them know our tour was canceled. As we waited on our ride, we had to inform at least 15 people that it was canceled. The company never sent a text or email to any of these people to let them know not to spend their money on a ride/parking, or to make the 5 block walk there from free parking. Very distasteful.

I booked this because of the great reviews. I read the reservation and it had the Don Caesar address but it also said there are 2 locations and to check on the day of tour. I received a text the day of and at 2:38 PM that said these are dry kayaks so water will not get in them (not true just fyi) and it went on about what to bring etc. The next text along with that was *Important Note: Please forward this to everyone in your party as well (it was a kayak paddling instructional video). At 6:58PM I received a confirmation for tour a 8PM (no location. That was it. So we headed to the Don Caesar as in original reservation. We walked about a mile or more from our hotel. We were there by 745. Watching while they unloaded the kayaks. At 8:21 PM I receive a text telling me to be at the other location .8 miles away and MUCH closer to our hotel. I said something to Eric the tour guide and he said that happened to a few people there and I asked what we should do and he told us to go there. So we started walking. I am furious as it is now late, its hot, I have bad ankles and now we are walking to the other location. I called and the girl on the phone kept telling me she texted me at 230.. I have proof of the time and confirmation from Eric of when it was received. After we walked .25 mile toward the other location and asking wth we are supposed to do she told me to walk back to the other place!?! She also said that the manager would call me. They never did. This ruined the trip for me. Terrible customer experience.

This is NOT a quizzed tour. Out of the 3 parties (9 people) we all thought this was guided. Nope. The person showed up late with the kayaks. We left a half hour late for the “tour”. You paddle through the busy channel and come up on the sand bar. Not much to see. Had to ask a local there how to get to the mangrove tunnel. It is literally a very short cut through to the other side. I guess there are 3 islands to explore but it is just paddling around them. In my opinion I wasted over $200 for my family to do this. It is a 4 hour excursion but we were done after an hour and a half. With no bathrooms or food we were done. They say they give you beach chairs but it is just cheap camping chairs that they give you so you can anchor your kayak so it doesn’t float away with the tide while you walk around the sandbar. Nope wasted my money would not recommend.

They didn’t give good directions for parking so we ended up having to walk a mile to get to the meeting place. The tour was supposed to begin at 8 and we all stood there for an hour waiting on them to get the gear ready. Once we finally got started the tour guide was going so fast that most of us were way behind him and had no idea what he was talking about on the conference call. We made the best of the trip that we could, but definitely would not recommend this tour for others.

Terrible experience. There is no island to dock your kayak on and relax. The “snorkel gear” is just a basic pair of goggles you can purchase from Walmart and they don’t carry enough for more than 2 adults only kids. No snorkel included. Don’t bring anything that you wouldn’t want wet. Water WILL get in. The guy running it (Shaun) had an attitude with every customer he came in contact with. If you are on vacation DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. It is worth 10 per person at most. There are much better places to kayak in Florida!
