Captain Jim was very informative of the area and made the boat tour a lot of fun. He did a 360 while we were going pretty fast and wow was this awesome! I highly recommend Wild Willy's they are decently priced and you get a good tour for your moneys value. Please remember to give your tour guide a tip as they work hard out in that heat all day.

We wanted some excitement coupled with nature and we got it. We booked for 8 of our family which included our parents in their 70s who both have mobility challenges. We all had an amazing time. Loved loved loved the wildlife, boating through the mangroves and the info our guide shared with us. There was lots of times for photos both during the ride and after with the baby gators....and we were lucky as the gators were out in full force during our ride. I took many photos of them as well as the other wildlife we were fortunate to see.

After finding Wild Willy’s online, we booked a 60 minute airboat tour for our family (including one kid who is terrified of reptiles). The dock and shop were in a mobile home park on the lake, but not difficult to find. It took about 30 minutes to get there from Universal Studios.
Almost as soon as our boat started going, we stopped to greet “Karen” the alligator, who hissed at us and then kept our eye on us. After seeing Karen, we saw 3 or 4 more alligators, including a juvenile. Our guide was excellent at spotting alligators in the wild, and provided us with a wealth of knowledge. By the end of the trip, both of our kids held a baby alligator back at the shop.
Great experience and value. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Orlando area who wants to venture outside the theme parks and resorts.

Our guide was fun, easy to talk to and enjoyed answering our many questions. The tour did not feel rushed at all. Our guide Brandon took lots of time to explain the different bird species, plant life, and ecosystem of the lake. Very educational and fun at the same time.
Holding the baby alligator at the end of the tour was pretty cool too... was surprised that the mouth wasn`t taped shut... added to the excitement.

We had a couple hours before our flight home after a weekend at the Orlando themed parks. We booked this trip at the last minute and weren't exactly sure what to expect. Wild Willy's is located less than 30 minutes from MCO so it wasn't too far out of the way. Sign in was easy as they had a bunch of iPad stations inside.
Austin was our very competent captain who knew the waters well. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna were on point and he knew exactly where to look. He took the time to answer everyones questions and his smooth demeanor made everyone feel calm even when we were within arms reach of a large alligator. When we got ashore we all agreed that this was the best part of our vacation!

We came along, a family of 6 and we all had a great time. Our guide was great telling us about all the wildlife we saw - turtles, bald eagles, snail kites, turtles and the star of the show the alligators. The boat trip itself was lots of fun skimming along the lake. Being winter, the temperature was a little bit cool when we were speeding along, so bring a coat if you go in winter. We even got to hold a baby alligator at the ends. Lots of fun - recommend!

Was a first time experience on an airboat for me and my wife and it was fantastic. It was my wife's 60th birthday present. The ease of scheduling a tour, directions to Wild Willy's location, and especially Captain Brian's knowledge of the wetlands and skippering the airboat were all first class. Going to do it again with a larger group of my friends and I would highly recommend it to others.

We were really looking forward to the trip and started out well with good directions and friendly check in staff.
The tour itself was OK, good ride in the airboat around the lake and we saw the heads of 3 alligators. However, I was a bit disappointed with the "Captain" who had a few learned facts but didn't seem keen (or possibly unable) to answer other questions. He also stated that the animals were wild and that the tour was to see them in their natural habitat so we would not get too close or disturb them, then proceeded to rev the engine and create waves in what seemed like an attempt to bring one up from the water after he had hissed at us. His attempt at humour in asking for a tip was also unpleasant - I am happy to tip for good service but given the cost of a tour is well over $200 per hour for four people, I think it is distasteful to then specifically ask for more money.
Overall it was a reasonable trip but I expected to have a more professional and knowledgeable guide to justify the cost

We saw alligators in their own habitat, so many of them! We learned a lot about air boats, our captain was informative and funny. We couldn't believe how fast the boats go, turn and stop and how little water they need. Both us and our kids loved it. Highlight was holding the alligator at the end.

Here is the thing. We are from MN so we don’t really have the need for an airboat and seeing gators! This was unbelievably awesome and I would definitely recommend if you’ve only seen alligators on tv or in a zoo. We also saw a doe, a turtle, a bunch of different birds, and our guide was super knowledgeable on everything and answered the questions the whole group had! It was a blast and I’d definitely do it again!

as a party of 4 we want to be on one of the 6 seat airboats - are these more expensive than the new 14 seat airboat - as will be purchasing through groupon

I think its more based on how many ppl book.. if you wanna book a private small boat u can for 300 but the rest of the time its based on how many ppl booked for that time.

The website mentions needing a sunpass for tolls that don't accept cash. Is there a route that wouldn't require a sunpass?
WildWillyStaff
Saint Cloud, FL11 contributions
Yes! You can still use the turnpike to get to us faster, just take exit 244 (you can pay cash) instead of the sunpass only 240. To avoid all tolls simply use 192 going east if you’re out near Disney area.

With a party of 3 can we choose the six passenger boat or will you place us on the bigger boat based on your other reservations?

Probably would depend on how busy the were.

As per others - only if it is raining! They do provide ear defenders to help with noise. We visited last month and I wore shorts & T-shirt. When are you planning on going as this may have a bearing on matters.

Is this attraction wheelchair accessible? My son does not walk at all, trying to get ideas of things to do while we are vacationing. He is 22 yrs old.

This is a great attraction but unless your son can step from the dock to the boat (with assistance) then it is not suitable. The airboat will wobble a little when anybody steps onto it so it's always going to be a little tricky for people of limited mobility. My wife managed it with a little help but she can walk a little. There are other operators with bigger airboats which might take a wheelchair. Having spent a few days in Disneyworld with a twenty year old in a wheelchair I recognise the difficulties you have. Good luck
