About
The St. Augustine Art Association was founded in 1924. It is a vibrant non-profit art organization recognized as the cultural epicenter of St. Augustine’s Art Community. STAAA hosts monthly juried exhibits, solo and group exhibits, lectures, workshops for adults and programs for children, concerts, special events and more. The organization also holds a Permanent Collection of important St. Augustine Art, including pieces by the organization’s founding members known as “The Lost Colony.” For over 50 years STAAA has produced the St. Augustine Art & Craft Festival at Francis Field. Other signature events include the Plein Air Paint Out and the Tactile Show for the Blind, a partnership with the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. STAAA’s award-winning TOUCH St. Augustine Braille Trail tour and the Art y Facts of Drake’s Raid exhibit offer expanded access to St. Augustine’s history through art.

Enjoyed our visit and was surprised by how much we learned. Our docent was enthusiastic and lively sharing her passion for the work of the association in promoting young and emerging artists of all mediums. Will not take long to walk through but think you will be pleasantly surprised.

We stopped by to see a free exhibit on local painters painting the St Augustine area. Amazing artwork and a pleasant way to pass an hour.

Our guide for the Art & Architecture Walking Tour was a NO SHOW! We called as requested. Even so, we were stood up!

We apologize for the inconvenience and unfortunate experience you had. Our Art & Architecture Walking Tours require a minimum number of participants. Unfortunately the tour you requested was cancelled. Since we did not have your email address, we attempted to notify you by phone but could not reach you. When you pass this way again, we hope you’ll visit us during gallery hours to see the outstanding local artwork that’s featured in new exhibitions every month. Until then, we wish you happy travels!

Exhibit changes monthly with a different theme each month. Locals display & sell their art. There is so much talent in St. Augustine. Many of the exhibitors also have walls at local galleries. There are many more submissions than accepted art for their monthly judged shows. They also have signs in braille & a permanent display area for the pieces they have acquired. Soothing display area to walk around.

Eco Tours located at the waters edge was a great stop. We signed up for a kayak tour of the inlet/marsh areas. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative telling us about historical landmarks, local history and ecological and wildlife facts. We saw lots of interesting wildlife.. had a few showers along the way but a great tour!! Well worth the stop!

This was top quality art created by artists from St Augustine spanning the last several decades. It was well displayed in a large room and there was ample narratives to describe the pictures. There were other rooms designed for day camps and a small room displaying the works of two sculptors. Some of the works were for sale. The exhibits change about once a month. A sculpture garden is being created. This gallery is well worth your time.
