We booked a private tour for our family (2 adults, 2 teens) to see the manatees in Blue Springs State Park. Our guide, Eric, met us at the meeting spot and the owner, Greg, joined us for part of the time, too. Eric, a master naturalist, was fantastic – he was full of information and could engage teens and adults alike. While he was fantastic with information about the manatees (there were over 200 the day we were there), he was equally good on the rest of the kayaking trip with info about all of the birds and reptiles we were seeing. On top of being super informative, it was incredibly fun. Definitely a great family outing for nature enthusiasts!

We contacted Greg and he sent a text back right away, explaining how to make our reservation for the following day, online (which was easy peasy).
We arrived a few minutes early and Greg was already there, with the kayaks down on the beach and ready to go. All of the equipment was clean and in great shape. He took the time to answer all of our questions about the area and offered suggestions on the best places/direction to paddle, taking in to consideration the winds and tide. We saw a huge variety of birds and many inquisitive sea turtles!
We enjoyed a great paddle and loved being able to stop at the park for a picnic lunch and bathroom break (bonus:).
We are arranging for a weekly rental at the end of February, and would highly recommend Kayak St Augustine to anyone coming to the area.

My wife and I booked a two hour kayak tour using a tandem kayak and it turned out to be a great experience. Lynn was assigned as our tour guide. She was patient, informative and very knowledgeable about the area and also the wildlife. We saw a number of different water birds and Lynn was able to tell us what they were. We also stopped off at a small beach where we could stretch our legs a bit and take a dip in the water. Being out on the water was so peaceful and relaxing and gave us a very different perspective of the area. We highly recommend.

Had a super fun morning Kayaking at Salt Run. Great weather (early July), smooth water, a pod of dolphins (including babies!). Excellent views of the lighthouse. Very efficiently and run and friendly folks. I recommend booking early in the morning to beat the heat and the boaters on the water. 100 percent recommend and will book with these folks again!

My 47 year old husband with a torn miniscus (knee issues) went stand up paddle boarding with our 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter. He (hubby) and daughter had never paddle boarded. Gary was so calm and patient and made them feel at ease getting in the water and demonstrating how to have a successful paddle boat excursion (19 year old has paddle boarded in the past).
They went out on the Salt Run and had calm waters and saw beautiful marine life including dolphins and turtles. Gary had incredible knowledge of all of the animals they saw throughout the morning.
He checked with repeatedly with each participant and made them feel completely at ease. I would HIGHLY recommend this excursion which was specifically the Eco Dolphin Tour!

We greatly enjoyed Kayaking St. Augustine with our guide Gary. His knowledge covering both history and local wildlife was fascinating and fun as we explored the waters. His food recommendations were spot on as well!

Carlos, our guide, was knowledgeable and easy going. Our family group was inexperienced at kayaking and he made us feel very comfortable on the water. We also got to see lots of dolphins - a mother and calf even swam up between our kayaks!

The team at Kayak St. Augustine was fabulous! We wanted to book the Salt Run Paddleboard Tour but were unsure of the options for our 9 yo. I called in advance and was told that the minimum age was 10 - mostly due to the fact that wind conditions can make it tough for younger kids w/out the proper upper body strength - but that they would be willing to test him before we got started and if he was not strong enough, they could make alternate accommodations (i.e. we could have him ride on a double board with one of us or switch to a Kayak.) Day of, we were met by Mac who told us the wind was slight but could be troubling for a young kid and it was suggested that he just ride double on Dad's board. I mentioned that this was my son's one "bucket list item" for our trip to Florida and we'd like to let him take a chance if it was ok. Mac agreed that they were willing to try and then personally took him out on the water to test his abilities. After a few instructions, it was agreed that my son could probably handle it on his own, but Mac made a back-up plan with the guide in case we got out on the water and it was too much for him. After some safety instructions and a demo on how to use the board, we were off and running.
Our guide (I'm so embarrassed, I can't remember his name at this moment) was great! It was his first time out on his own tour and he kept us entertained with "Dad jokes" and history information about the area we were seeing. We also spotted some dolphins across the way and he suggested we paddle over to watch them. They were chasing fish and we sat in the middle of them and watched them swim circles around us for a good 10 minutes. It was so cool! We also paddled to a little beach, where we were able to get off our boards and swim for a bit. The whole time he was taking pictures for us so we would have great memories of our trip. We were a group of 6, all beginners and the guide was patient and strived to make sure we were all having a good time.
In the end, we had a BLAST! And I'm so thankful to the team at St. Augustine for giving my little guy a chance on the board. I would definitely recommend these guys and if we're back in the area, we'll be joining them again! Book your trip with them! You won't be disappointed!

We had a small group (6) on the 8am Salt Run tour and the weather was perfect! Such a relaxing fun morning enjoying the scenery and birds. Too bad no dolphins, turtles or manatee that day. Our tour guide, Gary, was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He kept a good pace for the group and taught us “novices” all we needed to know to get paddling. It was great outdoor exercise and the highlight of our trip to St. Augustine!

What a great time!!! Some of us were new to paddle boarding and Gary was a great teacher and guide - we were up and paddle boarding in no time! We saw plenty of dolphin, sea turtles and osprey. Gary shared his vast knowledge about the environment and the city of St. Augustine - all around great experience. Highly recommend it and would do it again.
