Support local growers and enjoy the tour

This was my first ever trip to St. Augustine and the distillery, being one of the stops on the trolley tour, was on the must see list. The self guided tour with the free samples of rum, vodka, gin and bourbon paired with the distillery’s own specialty mixers was well worth it. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do. It was great to meet and talk with them at each of the 4 stations while sampling the local distillery’s production. At the end of the tour, there is a store where you can purchase both the alcohol and/or the mixers. The majority of the ingredients are locally sourced so it’s a great way to support local St. Aug business. This is a stop on the trolley tour so you won’t have to drive anywhere after drinking the samples. I will definitely return next time.

Enjoyed the taste testing and the friendly staff. This was a self guided tour and very informative. Great shop and purchased shirts and alcohol. The gin was our favorite.

Very interesting, self-guided tour. Shows the entire process and they provide free samples along the way. They were very good. This is one of the stops on the Trolley Tour. Recommend this one.

Spirits of St. Augustine

Great way to spend an hour or so. The “tour” is now self guided which means that you miss a lot of the real information about the process. The sample cocktails are excellent & when you get to the last area at the gift shop the sample bartender is vert generous! Best part is that it’s Free!

Cool, if you have the time.

Sampled Vodka, Gin, Rum and Bourbon mixed drinks. Then sampled them straight up. It was fun, if you have the time.

I found the servers to be very cordial and newly hired.

Plenty of parking or it is a Trolley Stop.

Alcohol for sale is very expensive. I prefer to buy mine at Costco, sorry.

Great mixers and smooth spirits!

We've been on our share of distillery tastings and this was the best one we've done! Usually you are handed a warm thimble of something that typically tastes like gasoline - not here! The staff is very friendly and we really enjoyed that they gave us samples of the alcohol as a tasty mixed drink! At the end, you could also taste them alone, if you wanted.

Not worth the time
Aug 2021
Not impressed, we didn't go on the tour for the "free" drinks, we wanted to learn more about the distillery. Not much to see or learn, the tour is free and self guided. Very disappointed and people serving the drinks were not friendly. Leads you to the store, which was ok, but since we didn't taste alot we didn't buy. We went to lunch at the distillery and the food was awful (which we returned)...Don't feel it is worth your time

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback! As a small, locally owned business, we certainly take all customer feedback to heart. While the restaurant next door is not associated with the distillery, we're sad to hear that the Ice Plant did not meet your needs as well. We're sorry that your experience wasn't to your liking and are always open to hearing more. You can send us an email at info@staugustinedistillery.com.

I'd Visit Again
Sep 2021 • Couples
This was our first time at the distillery. I tried their rum at two other places and wanted to see where it came from. The first time was straight up at Prohibition Kitchen. Second time was a mixed drink at the A1A Ale House called St. Augustine Punch.
The self guided tour was interesting and informative. Although, I feel like I learned more about the history of the distillery from the Trolly Tour than I did from reading the signs.
The tastings were good. I learned I enjoy their gin as well as their rum. Their rums are more delicious when mixed into drinks.
Also, I'd like to point out the fact that I am a diehard rum drinker and have been drinking all kinds of rum for over 20 years now. 1 mixed drink from the A1A Ale House made with the St. Augustine Rum actually made me extremely tipsy. Usually, it takes a few. I thought it was the way it was made. Nope, 2 shots during the tasting, made me feel it. If some one from the distillery reads this, you may want to do a tasting under cover at Prohibition Kitchen of your Rum because what they gave me tasted nothing like your tastings or the Ale House. It tasted more like how rubbing alcohol smells.

Free tour and Free samples

We did a nice walk through the distillery. The people were friendly, tour was free and the samples were plentiful.
Would recommend

Downside was that they do not offer a locals discount and the gift shop is pricey.

All in all would recommend

Hi! Thank you for your five-star, kind review, we're glad you were able to make it out! Although we do not offer a locals discount daily, we do have a Locals Appreciation Day every month on the 15th, where locals receive a free full-sized mixer of their choice with any 750ml spirit purchase. We hope to see you on October 15!
