it was such a nice way to relax and sit and pray and just breathe, this church is just what you need. the church is small and really a time capsule to go back in time and think about how the others prayed and worshipped back then,,,,,

This sits a short way from the restored area and is worth a visit. This old building sits on a lovely park like area. You can't miss it as there's a huge cross on the property. Go and walk around and spend a few minutes inside this lovely old mission.

Having decided to spend two nights in St Augustine, Ben and Mrs Too availed ourselves of the visitor center then bought hop-on-hop-off trolley passes to complete an orientation for tourists in the city. One of the gems in this historically and culturally important area is this site, where the first Christian worship services in the New World are believed to... More

The mission and the grounds are worth a visit. For us it is a Spiritual place where the first mass was celebrated! Jesus, was here 50+ years before Jamestown. The chapel is where one can pray and feel "his" presence.

Very pretty grounds and a peaceful, shady place to walk and reflect. We had heard that Hurricane Matthew hit the site hard, but it was walkable and very beautiful.

Most of this has reopened since being damaged by the hurricane, but there is still an area blocked off. Everything about this place is peaceful and tranquil. A bit of important history is here as well. The graves are old, and the statues and carvings are unique and wonderful. If you feel the urge you can spend some time in... More

We try to go here when ever we are in ST. Augustine FL. It is so peaceful and no noise. There is a lot of history at this place. Walk through the cemetery and read some of the stones. Look at the statues. The chapel is a nice place to visit and light a candle for someone who is sick... More

Matthew did a job on this site. As part of a functional Parish, Nostra Senora de la lecche, it stands as the landing site for the first Spanish missionaries and the site of the first celebration of Mass on what would be American soil. The rest of the grounds are lovely with a second museum on the premises. Informative if... More
