I found this very interesting, but my wife could not handle the explanation of the surgical procedures from the past. Our tour guide was VERY detailed, which is great information that gives you an idea of how the Spanish had such a high survival rate in their hospitals. However, if you can't handle gory details, you might want to wait... More

Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Very interesting to see what medical professionals did way back then. We have come along way, but a lot of the ways that the Spanish treated illnesses still apply.

Although it may not seem that interesting to do, it was my favorite part of the trip. Live demonstrations on how they used to do surgeries and a nice walk through an apothecary.

It's a talking tour (only three rooms, so almost a lecture with props) of a recreated Spanish Military Hospital, discussing the methods and medicines of the day. If that interests you, or you have an interest in herbal medications (which was a big subject), you will absolutely love it. Not sure if you'd ever need to do it twice, but... More

This was such a treat... learned lots about early medicine in an interesting and fun way. And how original apothecary practices are still used in our modern medicine. Great little museum and comfortable (benches and A/C!), entertaining presentation! IF you have a kid, definitely have them volunteer to help!

This tour is great for young and old. We've done it a couple of times now and always learn something new. It constantly amazes me how the early Spanish had such knowledge of the human body and herbal treatments - some of which we still use today. Great learning opportunity!

Tours are somewhat short, but it is very interesting. My wife and I did the tour a while back but have not gone back since then. We did the tour which was included with a ghost tour of the city afterwards. I enjoyed the ghost tour a lot.

This two room museum is a 30 minute tour, where I learned more than I care to know about amputations and surgeries of long ago. But we did learn and my teenage daughter was very impressed. I specially liked the information on botanicals used as medicines and to learn how Spanish hospitals/doctors were about 300 years ahead of their time.... More

This was our last stop on our trip and we were so happy we decided to do it. You start off in the museum before your "surgery" starts. You get to see all the different types of tools that were used back then. When you go in for "surgery" you are told how medical procedures worked back then. It was... More
