The tour guide was nice and friendly. Know what he was suppose to say. However, we paid over 50 dollars for 4 people. Asked if they did a military discount but only for did for active duty military. I am a retiree and I was cool with that. I don’t expect it but very grateful to place that give discount to retirees.

You are taken on a quick 30 minute tour of the first and second floor. The first floor is educational but you are not given much time to look around before you are escorted to the other areas and then upstairs. The second floor is where you have more information but that is where the tour guide just tells you to look around on your own and leaves you. Our tour had approximately 10 people in it. The Old Jail made over $120 on our group and most of us felt rushed through the whole place. The groups seemed to be pushed trough every 10-15 minutes.

I would not recommend this place for anyone who feels that value for money is important.

The tour was good and entertaining. We would recommend. Caution to those that are worried about COVID, the group size is large for touring the inside of the jail. Masks are not required on the tour. Even without COVID, we would have liked a smaller group on the tour to be able to see the interior better. We did also have one large family that were inconsiderate on the tour and kept talking to each other and answering the phone multiple times which was distracting and hard to hear the tour guide. Wish the guide would have said something to them or asked them to step outside.

Right outside of the old town of St. Augustine there is the Fountain of youth and the old jail house (largest jail in America in the early 1900s. The tour is about 45 minutes and it’s cool but $38 for two people, is not cool. There were no group photos around the hangman or in the jail. The top delis were closed off and there was minimal reading materials to read the history. Nice tour but way over priced.

Very nice 30 minute tour by a very qualified guide/actor followed by walk around time for you to self explore. Price is very reasonable. A good way to explore St. Augustine history.

Jack was our tour guide today. He was 100% THE best tour guide we’ve had on this yearly field trip! He has a great personality and was very engaging with the kids. He did such an amazing job with our 4th graders. Could not have been more pleased with our tour of the Old Jail!

Enjoyed this tour more than I expected to. Our tour guide Josephine made it fun, made it out like we'd all gotten arrested and were personally going to jail. As she told about the jail it mus have been terrible to be there as there was no glass in the windows so it must have been so hot hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There were 4 cots to a tiny cell and inmates who were to be hung had to stay in the cell facing the gallows and even build thier own. Price was reasonable and very informative.

Birdy did an awesome job of giving my teens the flavor of jail life in turn of the century Florida. Far from dull, this tour wraps facts in actor portrayals that bring this history home for another generation. Much better than listening to Mom lecture!!

My family really enjoyed the trolley . The hop on and off feature (starting right back where you left off) as long as you return to the same stop that you hopped Off of. Old jail was by far the most interactive . Patrick did an amazing job !!! We captured some extra fun pictures with him afterward —>ask for Patrick !!! 😎 the lady that was excepting parking $ and info she was very informative and loved her job 😍 she made it very interesting as well. Thank you for such a fun day .
Offering water on the trolley when it’s 96 degrees is a must , please Consider for those who do not want to Hop Off. Thanks it we enjoyed it !

Enjoyed my first daytime trip to the Old Jail. We had the pleasure of having innate Jack as our tour guide who was filled with great anecdotes, humor, and knowledge. It clearly showed the guy liked what he does and had a flair for the theatric. Highly recommend the tour and if you’re lucky, Jack will be your guide.

The Old Jail Museum is in a complex north of the colonial town that has a number of activites, tours and shops. The workers in the complex all dress up like they're from the 1800s and walk around acting their parts. For example, there was a convict in stripes looking gruff and angry walking around and grumbling about the unfair treatment, hangmans noose, etc. He totally stayed in character when I said "How can they just let the criminals walk the streets here." Then he followed us around a bit. It was really funny.

We had only a few hours, so we did the Oldest Store Museum tour and it was so much fun. The gentleman guide was a salesman and he played up the part in really cute ways. Very interactive and fun tour - and so cool to see all the old contraptions!!

We were sad to not have time to do everything and will 100% be back.
