Interesting history and beautiful shrine
Nov 2021
Definitely worth a stop, it’s doesn’t take too much time and it’s free. You will learn some history that you don’t really hear about and the shrine has beautiful paintings on the wall and ceiling. If you’re religious it’s great place to pray and light one of the candles as well.

worth a short stop
Nov 2021
This is definitely not listed in all the touristy brochures and I found it by accident walking down st. George St. I was so glad I entered (free). It had a wonderful display of the history of the Greeks in the area – something I did not know about. It is small, but do give it a stop – it is worthwhile. Takes about 15-20 minutes.

Pretty. Also scared.

I’m atheist but it was pretty. I accidentally dropped an AirPod and ended up saying some unholy things. My spot in H-E-double hockey sticks is reserved. I liked the gregorian chants being played.

Awesome Religious Experience
Sep 2021
Beautiful Shrine. Free admission. Light a Candle. Pray. Take a load off.

Located on George Street.

Nice gift shop, selling a number of religious and Saints items.

We love visiting churches/shrines when we are on vacation.

Oh well Why Not
Jul 2021
Free to enter, might as well take a gander, right? It was much smaller on the inside than I expected. Pictures make it look larger. It was nice and cool inside and not overcrowded so that was nice. There were some decorative art pieces but mostly historical facts on the wall. The 'Shrine' was nice and beautifully decorated. Gift shop on the way out but we didn't buy anything.

Beautiful
Jun 2021
What a nice reprieve from being a tourist. Lovely quiet spot in the middle of a bustling retail area. The icons in the shrine are so beautiful. We lit candles in memory of our departed and quietly said our prayers to their eternal memory in this peaceful place. The little courtyard was shaded and cool and provided a rest from the bustle outside.

I am so happy I stumbled upon this place
Jun 2021
I am not orthodox but I am Christian. I am very happy I stumbled into this shrine. At first, I did not know if it was open to the public or what it even was. I have been intrigued by the orthodox faith and have been watching videos and learning more about it lately. I decided to go ahead and go inside and figured someone might stop me but I was wrong. I walked inside and was instantly in awe. The shrine is gorgeous and the orthodox chants playing were very inspiring. What a great oasis away from the hustle and bustle just outside the doors. I was able to pray and felt at home here as a brother and follower of Christ Thank you.

Beautiful shrine tucked away
May 2021
If you didn't know this was there you would walk right by it. It is worth taking a few minutes to go look at the holy art and history. Lit candles for loved ones and it was a very uplifting experience.

Beautiful, tranquil respite from the bustle on St. George's
Mar 2021
We are Christians, but do not worship at a Greek Orthodox church. This Shrine is a beautiful spiritual, God-honoring respite from the surrounding tourism. We enjoyed seeing all the icons as well as the raised Nicene Creed and the Lord's Prayer on the walls. It is good for our kids to see other expressions of our family's faith in Jesus Christ apart from the styles and interpretations of scripture that they are used to.
