I really enjoyed my time in this beautiful city. I thought it would be cooler in September when we came but no it wasn't. The scenery and the old downtown was a good time day or night.

I have always loved Old City St. Augustine as it is a departure from typical Florida. Everywhere you turn there is history, art, and amazing food. You could spend days exploring this tiny spot and still not see it all.

Old city is a bit of a misnomer. Very little (like nothing) of the old city standing. Almost everything is a reconstruction. But they did do a nice job on the reconstructions and it is a pretty place despite all the chintzy shops that line George St. and surrounding area. Worth a stroll but don't expect real history. Stick to the Castillo for that!

The City Council of St Augustine is tearing down history! I am a wedding planner and coordinated a wedding in St Augustine one year ago which generated thousands of dollars total revenue for the city of Saint Augustine. Reading in the paper that the mayor and city council are tearing down a historical veteran Monument with veterans buried underneath it's very disturbing. One of the most precious things about staying Augustine is its charm and the history and maintaining all of it not picking and choosing to tear down some of it to rewrite history. I will no longer visit St Augustine nor will I recommend any of my clients to have their wedding there. I'm sorry things are so turbulent and the oldest city in American history. Tearing down anything that was put there by our ancestors is very disappointing. You are ruining the charm St Augustine.
