This is a small 5 building city with a unique spicery, old jail and the location for bus tours.I would look at the overall pricing for the tours and buy the only ones that you can’t walk to. The night ghost tour us the best.

St. Augustine's historic center is very well set up to accommodate visitors with an interest in history. There is the predictable tourist-oriented kitsch but there is also a vibrant story here and it's told very well through plaques on important landmarks and maps and brochures at the city's several visitor centers. These centers are a must stop - be sure to grab a couple of maps so you don't miss anything. The historic district is compact and can be easily walked in a day, but deserves more time to dig in to the colorful story. It's really well organized.

The area is phenomenal but like all great attractions, Old City has become a bit of a tourist trap. There are tons of shops with items made in China and it was really crowded. I was also disappointed that not a single shop vendor was wearing a mask in the middle of a surging Omicron variant....but again, it is Florida.

City is neat and lots of walking around old buildings and forts. Restaurants everywhere. The trolley tour can be done in one day. Half of the attractions are for kids. The other half is historical with a gift shop attached. The regular shops are mostly beach themed junk and t-shirts. Homeless people are everywhere but it gets alot worse at night. College kids are rude and stoned/drunk then the bums start begging. We stayed in a bed and breakfast which was very nice. All in all it was a good one time experience that we will not be repeating.

If you have ever tried to walk through an extremely-crowded casino in Vegas, then you'll have an idea about trying to enjoy this place. It is extremely small and cramped with WAAAY too many people for such a small area. We literally weren't able to look in most of the shops that we were interested in because they were dangerously over-crowded. Not a good place to be in the event of a fire or other unexpected event.

The City Council of St Augustine is tearing down history!
I am a wedding planner and coordinated a wedding in St Augustine one year ago which generated thousands of dollars total revenue for the city of Saint Augustine. Reading in the paper that the mayor and city council are tearing down a historical veteran Monument with veterans buried underneath it's very disturbing. One of the most precious things about staying Augustine is its charm and the history and maintaining all of it not picking and choosing to tear down some of it to rewrite history. I will no longer visit St Augustine nor will I recommend any of my clients to have their wedding there. I'm sorry things are so turbulent and the oldest city in American history. Tearing down anything that was put there by our ancestors is very disappointing. You are ruining the charm St Augustine.

The area is beautiful, but the number of homeless people camping out on the sidewalks, up against buildings, either drunk or so high they couldn't even speak, sit or stand. We were leaving a restaurant and one of them literally fell across the doorway. It is very sad, but I wonder why the city allows this in the historic area.

Just take the time to view for instance; the French Huguenot Cemetery and know the history behind their massacre (I am French Huguenot ancestry) and it is sad but a part of the region's history as is Anastasia Island where they were killed. Many beautiful churches and such grand architecture and the amount of wealth that lived in the area was mind boggling but the works of art, buildings and schools are amazing. Take your time ... the Trolly is a very uncomfortable way to travel and the drivers are too loud and very difficult to understand, but then walking everywhere is not logical either .. so it's catch 22. The Red Trolley does give you a 100% refund guarantee if you are not satisfied which is good customer relations. Don't miss anymore of this Oldest City that you have to ... but pay close attention to what is the real value and charm of the history of this city,

I was so impressed with the beauty of this city that I had to extend my stay here. I arrived at night and saw the beautiful lights adorning the central part of the city. The old town is walkable so I was able to leave my car at the motel and walk around and sightsee all day. Many of he establishments are pet friendly as well. The food is delicious and the historical sites are impressive. Day time and dinner time can get crowded with tourists and the typical trolley/train tours through the city. Highly recommend

3 family members on our journey. Thought the trolley tour would be the best way to see the attractions. Would have been ok if they had an English speaking your guide. It was a bit of time before I realized that "moosim" was a museum. This shouldn't happen. Everything was an upsell. Not good.
The jail your went okay, the guide was very good. A few people did walk out. The Wax museum was worth the time, but others stops were a waste of time.
As a day trip we did hop off near the wax museum and had lunch. Not recommended. Service was fine, but the food wasn't. 1 hot dog, 2 burgers 45.00 dollars. As stated the food wasn't the best.
St Augustine has to temper their upselling and improve in many areas of their adventure. Just be prepared. They are the home of "Ripley Believe it or Not", obviously they followed it's lead.
