Great for kids

The tour guide was very informative, we were able to touch everything, make candles, make necklaces, This would be really fun for kids.

Our guide, Kathleen, is extremely knowledgeable about the rich history of Fort Melendez, the Spanish settlers and the native Americans. On our guided tour she led us through the initial settlement of the fort, arrival by boat, later fires and destruction, and rebuildings, as well as a look at everyday life from gardening, to candlemaking, to education of the young.... My wife and I, including our kids enjoyed our second visit to this museum. This is our kids favorite museum in St. Augustine. The tour guide, Janine was wonderful. Kids loved her narrative and how she interacted with the kids. There are lots of hand on activities throughout the museum for the kids as well as the grownups to try.... More

We're playing our vacation loose and stopped in here because it looked interesting from the road. BEST DECISION EVER! We had no idea what we were in for, we were impressed right off with the sign stating free bottled water with every admission ticket. It was a bright and scortching hot day so that was a great offering for guests.... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the fort. The guides did a wonderful job of explaining what life was like back in the early days of St. Augustine. We discovered a lot about the Timcaun Indians and how they lived. This is a great place for kids. It is interactive too!

I lived in St. Augustine a year before I discovered this treasure. It was very interesting and edlucational. I learned so much about the town I moved to a year ago. A guide takes you through telling what life was like in the early days. There are plenty of examples of tools and equipment they used in those days. We... More

We have visited St. Augustine and its dozens of assorted attractions and tours many times over the years but never made it to this living history museum as it's a few blocks off the beaten path north of the old town. Also looked like it was primarily for kids. Don't make the same mistake. So much to see and DO.... More

Great for any age! A lot of history with great sea breezes on top of the fort. Enjoyed seeing the fort again since I was a child the last time.
