My parents visited the St. Augustine Wild Reserve a few years ago and enjoyed it so much that they brought me back with them Nov 2018. I was really impressed with all the volunteers - their knowledge of each animal as well as their dedication...More

After being somewhat skeptical, this turned out to be a highlight of the trip for our family. We didn't get to see any of the animals get a bath, but it was still a great visit. I would consider this a St. Augustine must see!

Much info about the info. Rasy walk through the reserve. Staff very informed and committed to the well being of the animals. Very clean. Best part was the white tiger playing splash with staff from the tub.5 stars!

Hi . It is 30.00 to do the tour. Go to the Website for details on booking . Hours are limited to 3 days I would just go ahead and book it so it fits into your vacation time . It is an amazing place

Which one is better?!? (6 Replies)
I am travelling to St. Augustine's with my mom, a 2 year old, and my friend. My mom and friend are interested in going to a botanical garden type place. But I also read very good reviews on the Wild Reserve. The gardens I found were the Cummer Museum or the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. We are not visiting long enough to do all three. If I had to choose, would it be better to do the zoo or do the Cummers Museum with the Wild Life Sanctuary (I am thinking we could do both of these as they both...More

When will you be traveling? Our "garden season" is pretty much in the spring. And the summer is pretty hot/humid. The zoo is a really nice zoo. Fairly large. It's much more than a "garden". Worth a trip from St. Augustine IMO (depending on the season - your tolerance for heat - etc.). The Cummer is an ok small museum. Not worth a trip from St. Augustine IMO. What "Wild Reserve" are you talking about? Note that I am a big garden fan. And we do have some excellent gardens in...More
