- Jenny E1 contribution"Handsome Alex"The whole experience was great. I didn't buy online tickets in advance because it just happened to be teacher appreciation week(my husband got in for half price with me). Not only did I get into the museum free but the train tour also, mini golf was offered ad well. The tour was awesome "Handsome Alex" was our conductor he was knowledgeable and funny, found out we were from Georgia and let everyone know about Oglethorpe shooting cannons in the wall. It was greatThank you so much for the wonderful review! Teachers and educators are so important to our community and we thank you for all you do. So happy you enjoyed your time with us. Handsome Alex is a wonderful guide. Funny and knowledgeable, he makes learning a blast.Written October 15, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 14, 2023
- browncondo2102Kitchener, Canada1,769 contributionsLooks like a CastleIt is $25 for adults to go here. You can spend about 90 minutes if you take your time. The Red Train and the Trolly both stop here. There is also parking near by. We had no kids with us but the ones we saw seemed to enjoy the space themed exhibits. Don't miss the horizontal tree house.Thank you for the review browncondo2102! Always good to hear that our guest had a good time with us. Just to expand on what you said, we do have parking on site and you can catch our Red Train as well as the Old Town Trolley here. We also sell both tickets as well. Thanks for spending time with us and hope to see you again in the future.Written March 13, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 10, 2024
- Stephanie B678 contributionsLots to see for all ages and pet friendly for well behaved leashed dogsPet friendly inside and outside the museum. Lots to see and fun for all ages. Self guided so you can breeze through or take your time. Some pathways are narrow so it’s hard to pass people that are very slow. Multilevel but provide an elevator and/or stairs. Bathrooms on site, large gift shop, trolly and red train stop at the location. Having to pay for parking on top of the cost of tickets was unexpected. If you purchase a combo, your parking should be free.Thank you for the review Darlin! - Dayna BHanalei, Hawaii26 contributionsWonderful random and bizarreWe spent hours at this museum. It is full of fun and random objects and information. A great presentation. My teen who doesn’t love historical tours wanted to read everything. It was annoying that you had to pay for parking. But we would still highly recommend.Thank you so much for the review DaynaB100! So glad to hear a good time was had. Paid parking was something that had to be implemented when the rest of the town done did the same before us. We became known as the free lot. We would fill up with those not visiting the attraction leaving no space for our guest. As it usually ends up being cheaper than the others flat rate, it has been quite popular over all.Written April 10, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 8, 2024

With turrets and towers that touch the sky, It’s a magical place where the curious fly. From the moment we entered, our eyes grew wide, With mysteries and marvels from side to side. The castle was quirky, with oddities so grand, Every corner and crevice was simply unplanned. We wandered through rooms where the bizarre did dwell, From strange exhibits to optical illusion spells. The art and the artifacts, both strange and unique, Made us chuckle and gasp—what a marvelous streak! Our guide was a gem, with tales to enthrall, Of curios and wonders that enchanted us all. With laughter and awe, we explored every nook, Feeling like characters right out of a book. So if you’re in town and crave a delight, Ripley’s Castle is your whimsical flight. With curiosities that sparkle and gleam, It’s a fantastical castle where dreams truly beam. A place full of wonder, so lively and bright, Ripley’s Castle will make your heart take flight. Signed up and went on the tour. The tour office gives you meters to use and while you drive the main streets and turns are all around high power electric lines. The meters are always going off while the guide tells you the dead are buried under the strees and the meter moving is from ghost (not true). One house is located at a 4 way junction of high power electric lines. You cannot tell whether a ghost is there or it is the power lines. Inside the ghost house there are so many electric lines in the house that the meter was always peaking around the large mirror. To top off the evening, we were at the cemetery and the guide lead us to the rest room and then with them knowing where we was at waited an extra (moment) and then drove off and left us. Good thing was we got our money back. This and any ghost tour here is not worth your money. Save your money, buy you on meters and walk and do you own ghost tour. This is a true.

We are so sorry to learn about your experience on our evening ghost tour. We always try to be very forthright about the fact that there are no restroom breaks on the 90-minute long tour. We routinely advise guests to make themselves most comfortable before the tour departs as we must adhere to prompt timing for storytelling and transport to each GhostTrain Adventure location. Guests make our world go around. Again, we are very sorry this was your experience, Michael P. We are glad to learn that we completed a refund of your ticket price. We appreciate that you gave us a try.

Nice day. Tour takes about 1 1/2 hrs. Staff are friendly. The building is old and if you are not able to do stairs, a staff member will take you on their employee elevator. It’s not ideal but it works. They give you a walk-in talkie and you call when you need to shift floors. After using the elevator the first time we decided to just walk the steps.
The museum is loaded with oddities some interesting, some not so interesting. The tour ends in the gift shop. The museum is the first Ripleys so it is dated inside and someone in a wheel chair was having navigation issues due to a few narrow paths.
Covid restrictions makes visiting places awkward . They offer hand sanitizer in the beginning but I truthfully didn’t see much along the way and some exhibits have buttons to push and things to touch. I wasn’t concerned. I used personal sanitizer at the end. Tour actually ends in the gift shop. Be sure to check out the outside exhibits!

Thank you for visiting. I can assure you that we have a team working all day to sanitize things and we fog the whole building nightly with a residual viruscide. We appreciate your visit and thank you for the feedback.

One of the cool features of this attraction is that it is located in a historic building. Other than that, Ripley’s is repetitive as compared to other ones that we tour. We tried to tour as many Ripley’s as we can, but it is getting repetitive with few minor differences between each location. This one has the giant tooth pick ISS and lunar landing craft. Not much different from other locations, but I still recommend this as each location have a thing or two new exhibits. It is a great time filler.

Add more exhibits to justify a $24 admission fee. Most of the exhibits in this "museum" are gimmicky and mundane. More space seems to be dedicated to pay games and carnival machines than actual exhibits. Certainty not worth the admission price.

We rode the Red Tour Train and the ticket sales are at Ripley's entrance and ticket office. The lady that was working around lunchtime on April 14 was so kind and courteous. I did not get her name. She even made sure we had a parking pass for our car and directed us to the restrooms in the gift shop without us asking.

My husband and I had a great time. We were told it would take less than an hour. We like to read everything to make the experience more interesting so it took us over 1.5 hours. There are really interesting art forms there that were inspiring.
We also went on the red trolly offered by Ripley’s. We had Jeff as our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and hilarious. We learned a lot of history through his tour complete with stories, jokes and sound effects.

Thank you for the great review! With close to 800 oddities in our Odditorium, there is a little something for everyone. It is a wonderful way to spend some time during your adventuring day! Jeff is also a fun and enlightening guide, he makes history fun, for sure! Thank you for making Ripley's and Red Trains part of your St Augustine experience!

This was the first time visiting a Ripley’s Believe It or Not and it was fun. The staff was friendly and the crowds weren’t too heavy during our visit. There are a lot of oddities to be seen and some of them outright wild. I won’t spoil any of them here. A couple of minor things 1) the price - it’s a bit expensive to visit although you don’t feel like you got fleeced like when you pay for a single day ticket at Disney for example 2) the noise - it is LOUD. Some of the exhibits should have their volumes checked as it takes you right out of the experience.
There are lots of reasonably priced things available for you to purchase at the end of your visit if you choose - the prices are good and again you won’t feel like you’ve gotten screwed like when you’re at a store on Disney property.

Thank you so much for visiting and for your great feedback! We took your advice and checked all of the sound levels. One of the things that is a constant battle in an old building with these acoustics is that sound level changes depending on how many people are in the building. If it is busy at one point and then it slows down, the sound levels seem louder. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit and we really appreciate the nice review!

My wife and I had a blast touring Ripley's. There are so many unique artifacts in the facility, with most of it being interactive! We booked this with the Red Train Tour and saved a lot of money. Another shout out to JEFF on the Red Train!

There was a long wait to get into the museum and when we finally got to the front of the line we were told that my grandpa couldn't get a senior discount simply because I wasn't a senior aswell, which didn't make any sense. The cashier had a fit and started to cry because we said we were going to put that in our review and she stopped crying a second later. This is a weird place and they act like pirates. After all that we had to walk all the way back to the car in the parking lot just to put a parking pass in the window for our short over priced visit to this converted house.
The place is filled with coin opperated machines as if the tickets weren't getting enough money out of us.
Wish we could of had a better experience and left a better review. The other locations look better, but this circus isn't worth going out of the way for.

I am so sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit! I'm also sorry that you didn't qualify for our senior discount, but we do have one! As advertised on our web site and on many of our ads, we have a senior BOGO. When you have two people 55 and over, it is buy one get one half off. It does require two people though. I am the manager and I did review the interaction to make sure it was handled professionally as I am sorry that it didn't meet your standards. Please understand that our team members take pride in making people happy and starting them off on an enjoyable visit. When they are spoken to in a certain manner, some do tend to take it personally. Honestly, I am glad that our team members are like that. It is a tough job where they can get disrespected sometimes and it can be hard when you put so much of yourself into what you do and sometimes people don't respond in kind no matter what you do. We know that we just can't always make everyone happy - but I'm sure glad they still try!!! In the end, I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit and we do appreciate your feedback. We always welcome constructive criticism when it is done in a positive manner such as this. We will definitely reassess our operations and see if we can become less "Pirate like." We certainly don't want be perceived as such. Thank you again for your feedback!

Jeff was a really good tour guide. He was very insightful of the terrain and introduced us to some sights that were breath taking. With humor, all throughout the ride, I would recommend Jeff anytime you go on the trolly tour throughout St. Augustine!

About an hour, maybe more if you like to read the history behind all of the exhibits, but an hour is a good average. Thank you!
