Cannons being fired, blacksmiths at work, muskets ( or whatever they called their rifles were all shown - how they used to load them ( with great effort) etc. You could easily spend 4 hours there. For someone who is NOT into history this was...More

It never disappoints. Great venue for the Family and children. Many things to do and learn. Interpretative interaction from period actors.

Great time walking around and learning history. The cannon, crossbow and flintlock gun exhibits were great. Great views from the tower.

Alto it was very cold we did walk around and saw the gun powder demo, the canyon demo. History was coming to life. The ground are beautiful with Peacocks walking the grounds. I would love to go back when it is a bit warmer.

Brought back my memories of those history lessons with Ponce de Leon. The park was clean & exhibits well marked. You can actually drink from the Fountain-corny, but we did the tourist thing. The peacocks strutting around the grounds are a nice touch & they...More

I learned several pieces of history in our time at the Fountain of Youth- and felt many emotions, too. Tip: pet friendly There are lots of live performances or readily available staff, dressed in period clothes, with lots of additional history to share. Take advantage...More

While the history of the area was very interesting, I think the best part was ALL the beautiful peacocks! They certainly put on a show. My husband and I watched the video in the Globe exhibit first then went back to the building with the...More

Seemed like a "must see" because of its history, and who doesn't want to take a sip from the Fountain of Youth! But the park offers sparse attractions. We weren't sorry we went, and they are commendably investing in more archeological documentation. But it was...More

I think anywhere between 2-3 hours should be enough. I did about 2 hours and got to see a good portion of the park.

We do have many paved pathways, but do also have a few that are still sand and some that are mulch. There are some areas that would be difficult with a scooter or walker.

1 1/2 days..What are the absolute must sees? (1 Reply)
We will be arriving in St. Augustine this next Monday for 1 1/2 days. I know that isn't very long to spend in the town, so I wanted to get your opinions of the absolute must sees while we are there. We have been before and have done the fort so no need for that again. I did get a travel book this time around and it seems we missed quite a bit during our last trip and I wanted to make the most of it this time around. We have two children who will be with us ages 2 and 6 so anything kid...More

Sounds great, check out this front page of the forum as this question was answered just today. With your travel book and what is posted on here already should help you out. After all, you know yourself better than anyone and what your family particularly like. Have fun !
