This is a destination to visit that will have numerous activities to kids and adults alike. There is a fee to enter, a restaurant on site, and a gift shop. You are given a map and go in a set order (things build on each other at each site). There are beautiful peacocks on site including white ones. The planetarium was a nice respite for tired feet. There are numerous performances and learning show to watch including ones on historical weapons. Many of these are at set times so may have several minutes to wait between going to the next stop on the map. You don't have to follow it directly, but you will not get as much out of the visit (or for your money). There are restrooms on site. Was nice place to explore. The food at the onsite restaurant was decent but seating can be tough to find.

Wonderful historical place with interesting demonstrations of cannons, guns and blacksmith. We visited as a family then each ticket is $22.95 and children under 12 y/o $9.95. It is educational and fun! It is mostly outdoor so carry water and wear a hat. Its dog friendly. The peacocks are loud so be aware of it. We recommend it.

My family and I only had one day to visit the museums/parks that were part of our trolley ad-ons, so ended up at the fountain of youth 1 1/2 hours before they closed. After a quick snack at the park entrance, we went straight to the fountain. The fountain is not far from the entrance, so it’s one of the first things you see. We all went in and grabbed one of the disposable cups provided. Everyone took a sip from the fountain. From there, you can walk through the Timucuan village and see how Florida natives lived. We didn’t spend a lot of time here. We had a choice of presentations at the end of the day. One was in the planetarium and the others were part of the settlement. We chose to watch a blacksmith demonstration, which was very interesting. It was over just in time to catch the cannon demonstration, in which they fire a cannon over the water. After that, they open the observation deck. It has steps leading up to the top, but wasn’t too hard to walk up. We spotted a sea turtle in the water from there. We also went on the walkway out onto the water and saw another turtle. We spent the most time watching the peacocks that were all over the park. The males were trying really hard to attract the females, so everywhere you looked there were peacocks ruffling their feathers. They were beautiful and we really enjoyed watching them. It is a nice place to walk around in an take in the scenery. It doesn’t take all day to see though, so you can plan accordingly.

St. Augustine is an area I've always wanted to visit due to the deep history. We were just passing through on a baseball stadium bus tour and had just about 90 minutes to visit this park. While it seems geared more to kids, and is probably a popular field trip destination, we did learn some of the history of Ponce de Leon's exploration and the lives of the native tribes who inhabited the area. We also had a sip of the water from the fountain of youth, though I'm still waiting for the effects to be realized! My favorite part of the visit was the beautiful peacocks who cawed and preened and seemed to be hanging out everywhere. One of the guides said that there are about 70 here in this preserve. They're free to go, but they return because they're fed here.

This is an interesting park. They have several movies about the park and have build period buildings and also put on demonstrations through out the day. They have a building with a place that you can get water from the fountain of youth. But, be warned ahead of time (drinking the water does not work).

Beautiful peacocks walk most of the park, including a white one. Would recommend not doing this activity in the middle of the day during the summer, would aim for the morning. Didn't get to go any of the "shows" they had and none were occurring while we were in that location of the park.

Nice place. Be prepared to walk. Went in May and was very hot however had a good time. Peacocks run loose so just stay out of their way. Got some great pictures of them. Will probably go again in September when we take our inlaws to St Augustine.

Absolutely loved visiting! This was mine and my husband’s first time and there was so much to do and learn. Each area had something new to share with us and the workers were all so nice. The price was a little much for just us two (about $45) but there were some things we chose not to do so I guess that’s on us.

Beautiful well-maintained grounds. Pet friendly. The trolly stops there, personal vehicle parking is free, and/or you can enter on foot. A little pricey and they dont offer discounts like most places (AAA, law enforcement, student, etc). Self guided tour so you go at your own pace but it doesn’t take long to tour the entire grounds, so it allows time for other tourist attractions or activities on the same day. The peacocks walking around are pretty, very educational experience overall, restrooms, gift shop, and food are all on site.

I’ve been to St. Augustine many times and have avoided this park because I thought it was a tourist trap. This time I stayed in a motel within walking distance and the peacocks were calling me. Decided to check it out. Happy I did. This place is amazing! America’s first theme park. Take that, Mr. Mouse! So much history. Timucuan, Spanish, Christian, and American. Bonus, you can actually drink from the Fountain of Youth. I drank 2 cups. Ha! Don’t miss the Discovery Globe. Epic. The Spanish Watchtower is impressive as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this park and really learned a lot. Highly recommended!

The cost of this trip is $20-$23 depending on adult age. There was nothing captivating or serene in the walk. The water level was above ground, and he walked through sludge around the garden. It is the only part of our trip that we felt like it was money wasted.

We hope you can return when you are able to spend the suggested 2.5 hours to visit our Park. We are unsure what you could mean by "sludge", or what "garden" you meant...we have 15 acres of property , with mutiple areas referred to as "gardens" by our guests.

One cannot help but want to see this "miraculous" scene ( joke) after studying it all in 4th grade. BUT --it is a total stupid thing. Seniors pay $17, Adults $19 Apparently it used to be a BIG deal in the 1960s built as a "historical themed park. Like Williamsburg on a budget. But now there is little to see of any interest. The fountain itself in inside a building that has built a whole facade around it and you are allowed to take a sip from a faucet that drains from a pool. Water tastes BAD. It is SOOOOO not what I had expected, but should have anticipated, I guess. A dumb tourist rip off.

We wish you had stayed long enough to visit the multiple exhibits, demonstrations, reenactments, interpretation, shows, activities, and viewing areas that we offer. As for the water, since it is tested regularly to be certain is both safe and palatable, we can only assume the fact that it is served at room temperature was the issue for you. We hope you can return when you can give the Park the minimum 2 hours needed to enjoy all we offer.

We arrived at 11:30 after walking from our hotel. You must see Magnolia Street
The main street leading to the park. The trolley also goes by. The peacocks, fountain cannon blasts, blacksmith and guides all made for a memorable visit. We saw Everything we wanted in 1 to 2 hours. There is a great sushi restaurant across the main street that had lunch special for under $12.

Visiting the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park was well worthwhile. There were a number of activities, many child friendly, although we are a "senior couple", we also greatly enjoyed the presentations. In spite of being a lifelong Florida resident, there was a wealth of historical information provided that I had never heard/learned. The Park has a great deal of space that separates the various displays/presentations that you can walk around and enjoy. We must mention that the Blacksmith, Geronimo, was an outstanding contributor to our experience. We got to witness a portion of his presentation that was primarily to a group of school children. His ability to interact and keep them engaged was wonderful. When we returned for a different "show time" our group was primarily adults, again his ability to communicate period specific historical information as well as engage and entertain the group made our day. We can't believe that after all these years in Florida that we have missed this Attraction GEM. If you have never visited this Park, do yourself a favor and put it on your list of things to see while visiting St Augustine.

The experience we had at the Fountion of Youth Park was terrible. We all got sick from drinking the water and the shows were not very informal and boring. The park representatives were very rude and non informative. The cost of the tour for what we experienced was way overpriced. Very poor History lesson.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Fountain of Youth Park Experience.

The admission price at $20 per adult does seem a bit hefty and a bit more than I would think, but I did enjoy the experience.

The park is laid out well and is easy to stroll through the grounds/exhibits. The first exhibit up is the fountain of youth itself which then moves on to a planetarium showing how ships used stars to navigate, an exhibit on archaeological finds and memorial, plants native to Florida walkway, blacksmith exhibit showing tools of the 1500-1600's, ship weaponry and cannon displays, viewing tower, archeology dig exhibit and a few more. Peacocks roamed the grounds/area as well and are beautiful to view. The grounds also have random historical ship items such as anchors, cannons as well as other Indian artifacts used during the time period.

Of particular note most of the stations had "show" or short guided talk about the topic which were well done for a couple reasons. 1. The people leading were well educated on topics and had a good energy 2. The sessions were informative, entertaining and fairly short (did not run on forever!) 3. Well timed - as you strolled the park/path and arrived at next area within minutes the "show" starting. No going back and forth to exhibits - trying to figure out timing or anything. Just very well done.

Enjoyed the stop and now that I've sampled the water will have plenty of years to return another time.

We enjoyed the many things to see here. We drank from the Fountain of Youth and took pics. We took pics with many peacocks. It was mating season so they had their tail feathers out. You can feed the peacocks right from your hand. We enjoyed the gift shop, the look out tower, the BBQ out front, the history, the mission chapel. It was a hot day but there were many places to sit in the shade and cool off. On hot days we do recommend going first thing in the morning....don't wait until 12-3. We parked at stop #1, then walked to the fountain of youth and then afterwards got on the trolley tour for the first 14 stops. (We already had purchased our trolley passes the day before.). Oh, the water doesn't taste good at all, but fortunately it made me younger.

We visited during July 4th weekend, and while the fountain of youth itself was underwhelming the staff at the park were not. We brought our dog with us and were pleasantly surprised to see that the staff were extremely friendly to him. Almost every employee we encountered stopped and asked about our dog! There were dog water bowls throughout the park for him and he was welcome in the shows. The price of entry to the park is a little pricy for what it is but you can tell they are trying to make it worth it. The friendly staff really made the experience!

My partner and I decided to visit Fountain of Youth on a whim. We had a poor interaction at the start of our experience with the woman collecting tickets. I believe her name was Jill from Michigan. I gave her our tickets and she proceed it. She then quickly moved on to the people behind us so my partner and I moved out of the way as our encounter was over. She then said “I guess you don’t want a map” and I said “oh I didn’t realize you were giving out maps” thinking that she would give one to my partner and I. She then responded “that’s because you walked away”. I walked away because she started her next interaction with the guests behind us. She refused to give us a map of the park.

Park was okay. Multiple presentations (cannon firing, black smithing, etc) happening every hour I believe. Greg at the blacksmith exhibition was very personable and definitely liked his job. I can’t say the same for the rest of the staff working at exhibitions. They all looked disinterested to be there. There was an young male with long brown hair at the exhibition of traditional huts eating chicken tenders. I felt like we were interrupting his lunch break. He didn’t offer up any information or even greet us… though seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the site when my partner asked questions.

The highlight of the trip was the peacocks. They were beautiful

It’s definitely not cheap: for our family of five (four adults and one teen), it cost almost $100, and that was after using a coupon I found in our hotel lobby.

BUT, it is such an iconic part of St. Augustine history. Parts of it are kitschy, but that just adds to the charm.

My favorite part was probably the actual fountain (yes, you can drink out of it), and the flowers and peacocks.

It took us a little bit longer than an hour to get through it all. We probably would have stayed longer, but it was only 40 degrees out and windy.

We didn’t watch any of the presentations: none of them started until a little bit later (10 was the earliest). Being it was so cold, we didn’t want to wait around until a demonstration happened.
