Before visiting this site we had know idea what Fort Mose was. Excellent sign boards were quite helpful in explaining its history. On a separate note, the area is a good birdwatching site as well.

The history of this area is absolutely fascinating and inspiring. Please go learn about this hidden gem. The museum was well done and super educational. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, roseate spoonbill, red fish, woodstorks, and much more!

This small, but VERY informative State museaum is just north of the city gate and tells the very important story of Black life in Spanish American. You probably don't know this story, but you should. Go!!!
