Please partake of this "ONE-OF-KIND", "HANDS-ON" adventure!!! Learn from 82-year-old Gus's 42-years of vast knowledge & experience...of the area & Florida---plus, his passion & love of "crabbing"!!! Wear attire & shoes that can get wet (Gus provides the gloves & aprons) & partake in REAL CRABBING!!! Armed with 50 lbs. of "bait fish", you will learn to snare the rope attached to the trap...pull it...dump the trap...bait it...& return it to the water. Gus navigates the boat to "many locations"---we even got to see Tampa & St. Pete from the water---until the box of "bait fish" is expired. We returned with 2 boxes "full of blue crabs"!!! AWESOME!!!! Upon your return to the "beautiful property" surrounding his home, Gus will prepare you a FANTASTIC homemade meal of potato salad, crab salad, grilled shrimp, fried fish, soft shell blue crab, hush puppies, & steamed blue crabs!! Coke, beer & wine are the furnished beverages!!! All of this is included in the price of the tour!!! Everything about this adventure was incredible---the weather, the water, the food, the knowledge, the experience & ESPECIALLY GUS!!!!! I don't think a tour "exactly like this" exists anywhere, so PLEASE DON'T LET THE OPPORTUNITY PASS YOU BY!!!! I promise, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!! Gus---many thanks from Ruth, Carol & Jan!!!!

We had an amazing time with Gus. This is a highly recommend tour. You learn all about this area from an 80 yr old Floridian that doesn't look a day over 60. He teaches you how to haul in the crab as he's teaching you about a crab's life. After you catch a load of crabs, he brings you back to his beautiful home for lunch that he makes himself. The spread is huge, and the leftovers are yours. I can't recommend this tour enough. My 16 yr old daughter was an expert by the end of the trip. We will be seeing Gus again for sure.

We booked Gus's trip because of the recommendation of a friend of a friend and we are so glad we did. Gus will tell you when you arrive at his home and the starting point of your adventure that he will turn 80 on his next birthday. He is a native Floridian and has been crabbing for more than 40 years. The time we spent with him was educational, scenic and thoroughly enjoyable. We all had the opportunity to bring in the traps, empty them and refill with bait. We then returned to his place and he prepared lunch. The lunch was fantastic. He has a well stocked refrigerator with water, soft drinks, beer and wine. The food was exceptional. Three different preparations of crab, grilled shrimp, Cole slaw, assorted fruit and brownies for dessert. If you are visiting the Tampa area, you should check it out.
