Efficient, quick, cheap, and enjoyable. This ferry shuttle service to Peanut Island is great. Easy, free parking, and cheap rates ($12/adult, $6/kid). They also rent snorkeling gear, and sell snacks/drinks/sunscreen right on the boat. Our captain was a great tour guide for the short ride over. This ferry is a small price to pay to have an incredible day on Peanut Island. Honestly, for the experience of spending time on this type of great island you would pay a lot more in other locations.

We arrived in the mid afternoon to take Captain Joe's water taxi across to Peanut Island so we could tour the Coast Guard station and Kennedy bunker. On our arrival, Captain Joe had about 8 empty seats on his vessel, but instead of taking our money and advising us to hop on, he warned us about the impending weather conditions. He advised us not to go across to the island, and also spent time telling us all about what we would be able to see there on a better day. He gave us his phone number and informed us that we should ahead next time so he could advise us as to whether the day was suitable for our visit. In being honest with us, he lost four fares, but gained a great deal of respect.

We live nearby and take the water taxi to Peanut Island often. It runs often, the price is reasonable, and it takes you right to a dock where a sidewalk begins, so it's easy if you're bringing a rollaboard suitcase or a cooler on wheels.

Please note this is a review of the water taxi service and not of Peanut Island itself, which gets 5 stars.
First off, this is NOT the regular water taxi service with Capt Joe and crew. There is now a new water taxi service - no comparison to Capt Joe's service. We go to Peanut Island every few months. Our friends recently went and advised of their disappointment with the new service, but this is more convenient than Sailfish water taxi. We had company in town who love going here so we headed on down to the marina for the taxi. Needless to say everyone was disappointed there was no Capt Joe. The price has increased now to $12pp. The new drop off point is quite a long walk from the snorkel area. This was difficult with small children and elderly. The old service dropped you off at the dock right next to snorkel area. New crew seemed bothered by all the questions we were asking. Unfortunately if you want to go to the island your options are limited so you must pay and go....but bring back Capt Joe! Peanut island is a wonderful destination and gem of Palm Beach County. The staff and crew should remember they act as stewards for PB County and their attitudes act as a 1st impression to this lovely island. It seems they know people don't really have many options of getting to the island so they just don't care. Be aware with new drop off location and small boat it is more difficult for small children and elderly. Not sure where old water is but bring it back and Capt Joe and his crew!

As of October first, Captain Joe's water taxi is no longer located at the Riviera Beach Marina. Unsure if he is operating from somewhere else.

So, if you are going to Peanut Island you cannot swim there so this is the alternative. :) A relaxing round trip ride on a large pontoon boat, round trip I believe was $14.00. The ride is short, 10 minutes, relaxing, with beautiful views of multi million boats and cruise ships on the way to the island. I enjoyed this boat ride as much as the day of snorkeling on Peanut Island. Enjoy! :)

We visited with family and had several bags and a cooler. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If you visit Peanut Island, be advised you have to walk to where ever you go, so pack lightly if you can. And plan to have a fantastic day!

This is one of two public boat services to Peanut Island. Our crew was friendly and enforced COVID protocols. It was a slow day and they said we could call when we needed a ride back.

I believe they leave every 15 or 30 minutes, and shade, snacks, and drinks are available while you wait. There is a ton of parking, but there are reserved spots at the front for loading and unloading, which is great when you have a lot of gear.

Nice short boat ride on a 25-40 person craft that picks up every hour or 2. Make sure you get your tickets and wait down by the boat so you can be in line to catch your scheduled time. You can get bumped if the boat is full and have to wait for the boat to come back or another boat is around.

That is correct. The south dock is not being used at this time. All drop offs are at the North west dock
