We had wanted to tour the bunker last time we were here but tours are only Thurs - Sun. So this year we went specifically to tour the bunker. Very interesting!!! Though we wished we had brought snorkel gear, we were happy to discover that we could see many cool fish right from the bridges and docks. Spent some time... More

Great place to take a relaxing swim with fish and enjoy laying on the beach. The waters are relatively calm and shallow so it is easy for all ages. If you are lucky, you might even get to swim with a manatee...we did!

As long as you are not looking for a crashing surf, this little island is idyllic and accommodating! We packed up our picnic lunch and headed over to the island via the ferry, which runs every 15 minutes. Once on the island, paved walkways lead you over bridges and along the water's edge. There is a plethora of little coves... More

This was our second year to snorkel and our third trip to Peanut Island. The snorkeling is best at high tide, but there are still plenty of fish to see during low tide and in between tides. The facilities are well maintained. There are plenty of clean restrooms. The museum and bomb shelter are worth the trip and interesting to... More

Best kayak and dive location in Palm Beach County - take water taxi to the Island from SAILFISH MARINA? Also on the Island is former US Coast Guard Station and adjacent JFK COLD WAR FALLOUT SHELTER? JFK CENTER open to visitors and preserved exactly as it was build to protect Kennedy during Cuban crisis!

We had a wonderful time on the island. After going to Singer Island for the past 14 years and not visiting Peanut Island, it was about the only thing we had not done. Everything we read said there was nothing there and no food on the island. Boy did they get it wrong. The JFK bomb shelter is amazing. Karey,... More

We went to Peanut island to see the JFK bunker. Turned out it is a nice place. On a Friday afternoon in December few folks were there. Took a walk around the "lagoons" and back to the pier. Pleasant, paved, trail. If you can get off the boat need to get to the island, going about it should not be... More

We stopped here while boating and were very impressed. The docks and restrooms were well maintained and the beaches clean.

The JFK Bunker, the Marine Museum, and the office were all closed. Except for being able to walk the circumference of the island there wasn't anything to do. There wasn't wild to see nor any interesting vegetation either. At least when to paid for the water taxi to go to the island they should have warned you. Forget it!
