We have completed three of the ASA courses with Captain Phil, and we now have skills that can take us anywhere we want to sail! Captain Phil has decades of experience on the water sailing a variety of vessels. Captain Phil was able to answer every question we had during the 4 weekends of sailing lessons. The American Sailing Association courses are well thought out and presented in an organized and structured manner that make learning enjoyable while applying a healthy dose of common sense. We highly recommend Captain Phil and Charlotte Harbor Sailing for lessons, or give him a call to go on an evening sunset cruise and watch the dolphins!

We had never been on a sail boat so while planning our trip I found this sunset cruise. I reached out to captain Phil via email and setup the cruise. Arrived at the marina and met captain Phil. He was very nice and welcoming. As we set out to the river he was very helpful by explaining what he was doing and why. Answered all of our questions and just had great conversation. It was very windy which is exactly what is needed to sail lol. Perfect night to enjoy a sunset on the water with my Love. It was definitely awesome to be on the water and watch the sunset. I would recommend Captain Phil's sailboat charters to anyone and we will for sure be back. You won't regret it 💯💯💯⛵

I hire Capt Phil to help me with gaining confidence and skills in docking my 41’ sailboat. I sail mostly alone so I expected this to be a challenge but Captain Phil spent a short while with me assessing my unique dock situation, we planned which lines we would need and set those. Within and hour I was gliding my boat into that slip without a hitch. Very knowledgeable, friendly and great to work with!

We wanted to take our granddaughters (age 7 and 11) to experience something new and different while visiting this year, and Captain Phil provided us with an unforgettable sunset cruise. Captain Phil was very accommodating, encouraging us to bring along a picnic dinner. Both of the girls took a turn at the wheel, and found their sea legs quickly, scampering up on the foredeck to join Grandma.

4 of us went out with Captain Phil on a beautiful day for sailing. 3 were first tin sailors. We all loved it. Boat was clean. Phil was very knowledgable and friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing few hours on the beautiful Charlotte Harbor.

It was a great experience learning about sailing at Charlotte Harbor Sailing in Punta Gorda, FL with Captain Phil. Phil is very knowledgeable and we learned so much from him and can't wait to use on our own sailboat.

Best two days ever spent with Captain Phil for sailing instruction. He is thorough and vested in ensuring you learn the material and practically apply it. He is laid back enough to alleviate any possible stresses in the student overcoming a learning curve. He is fun and friendly, and not only did our sails fly, but so did the time. We also appreciated his flexibility in picking the best days to get the most out of our day sails. We will be back.

Charlotte Harbor Sailing is located in Punta Gorda, FL conveniently located at the Isles Yacht Club Marina. Easy to find and plenty of parking available very close to the docks. I have taken 3 courses with this company and had so much fun with each one. Learning materials are sent promptly with plenty of time to study before heading out on the sailboat. Capt. Phil was very professional, easy-going and SO patient. His passion for sailing definitely comes through his teaching. The sailboat is very nice, clean and well-kept. It has a Bimini so you are able to get out of the sun if you want to. Definitely bring sunscreen, sun shirt and a hat along with drinks/lunch & snacks. You'll lunch out in Charlotte Harbor enjoying the view, other sailboats and lots of birds. I was lucky enough to see dolphins every time I went out! I highly recommend this company for sailing lessons but be warned -- you'll catch the bug and want to take the next course level and the next... I heard their Charter trips are awesome so that's next!!

In spite of the less than ideal weather conditions, we had a relaxing sunset sail with our group of 6 celebrating my birthday. The boat is lovely and comfortable. Captain Phil was accommodating in every respect.

Enjoyed a wonderful sunset sail with Charlotte Harbor Sailing recently. Everything about the experience was first class. The sailboat was a gem, clean and comfortable. Our Captain, Phil, was very personable, more than willing to answer our questions about sailing, the harbor, aquatic life, living on the Gulf coast and more. The sunset - well, it was nothing short of spectacular! All-in-all, the sail was the highlight of our trip this year. Highly recommended!

Hi Judy,
If you would like to take a 2hr sailing trip it would be 199.00 + tax and a 4hr sailing trip would be 350 + tax, that is for the rental of the boat and you are welcome to bring up to 6 in your party. If you would like to take in the sunset we could schedule it later in the day. We usually see dolphins and rays during the sail.
We are about 40 minutes south from Venice beach in Punta Gorda.
