Fantastic collection of cars, the quality of the finish on the vehicles was unbelievable, the only comment I would have is that it was bias to Chevrolet. But even so would say well worth a visit. We used the restaurant and it was reasonably priced and of good quality, made to feel welcome.

My hot rod friend and I visited for about 3 hours. All the cars were in stunning condition with beautiful paint. Almost every example of each model year were top of the line, big block engines with 4 speed trannies. I can't imagine what this collection is worth but if you like Chevy's from the muscle era, this is a definite must do in the Punta Gorda area. Top notch collection.

At the new location, this is a fabulous collection of restored vehicles. The cars are kept in the best condition. The paint polish and finish on the cars is superb. The museum is light and airy with lovely bits of motoring memorbilia. The gentleman who was in attendance was so knowledgable and so very polite in answering all our questions. There is a small gift and souvenir shop with moderately priced goods. The attraction is as good as Disney ( if not better). We tooksuch a long time looking at the cars that we did not have anything to eat in the diner. It was worth travelling from the UK to see this. We recommend this museum to anyone visiting Florida.

Real cool place! There are 170 vehicles in mint condition with the hoods up. There are signs as to the year, how many were made of the rare models. I am a female and I think I took over 50 photos. I loved the collection.
There are old gas pumps, old stingray bikes There is a gift shop also.
So glad we went while staying in Punta Gorda at an airbnb

While it only cost $12.50 for admission, the experience just isn't worth it. The ladies at the front desk were more interested in chatting with each other than dealing with customers, the cars are packed in VERY tightly and you can get through in less than 1/2 hour. Just not that spectacular.

Loved all the 50's, 60's Cars of long lost memories.
Restaurant.......... Diner style food was good
When it arrived [ one hour late ]
Harried servers running as fast as they could.

If you’re wondering where or what to do while in Punta Gorda, take a few hours to visit the Muscle Car City Museum. It’s new location on Tamiami Trail - Rt 41 has been designed to provide a large gift store, along with a bar and restaurant to enjoy lunch or dinner before or after you visit the General Motors car museum. The private collection spans several decades of every make and model restored and preserved in pristine condition. Great way to spend the afternoon sightseeing when your family and friends come to visit.

Couldn't read the small print on the window card they had placed under the windshield wiper. It was loose and not attached in any way, so I picked it up to read it. Bad mistake. Got confronted by some jerk who worked there and was told "Not to TOUCH the cars". I had not touched the car and I resent being treated like a 5 year old in a candy store.

I selected the Museum for a daily outing - something I thought my husband would enjoy. Boy, did he ever! He wants to go back. After I finished looking at the memorabilia and the cars, I went to the restaurant to have some coffee and wait for him. When he finally joined me we had a delicious lunch. Looking forward to going back for lunch, again.

For anyone who grew up in the car culture of the 50s and 60s, this is an experience not to be missed. Of course there are a lot of pre- and post- examples going back to the 20's and some very recent. But the focus is on performance and style. We still have performance, but everything today looks incredibly the same, with few exceptions.
Are there pieces missing, or could someone complain? Well, sure. People are like that. But given what this is, an exhibit of General Motors vehicles, it's great. Maybe a little more space between the vehicles, okay, that would help. But nothing worth diminishing the overall excellence.
Certainly there's a shop with all kinds of relevant materials for sale, but that's to be expected. There's also an attached restaurant (more about that separately) if you want to take a break. But those two things are only incidental to the main event.
Bottom Line: It's a time warp and well going out of your way for. If, that is, you're old enough to appreciate it. Or young enough to understand.

I believe it was $12. We also used a $1.00 off (per adult) coupon that we found in the local brochures that are available in the lobby of some supermarkets/retail stores. I felt the price was worth it as it is a great collection of cars and memorabilia.

No you do not, you also can go into the store without paying for the tour. The store has signs that you can hang in your garage or man cave and trust me, there is a sign for everyone

You can shop in the store and eat in the restaurant without paying admission to the museum... but the museum is awesome!
