We set out of Port Charlotte harbor on a bleak Valentines Day morning, heading out to Cabbage Key; the visibility was poor as we thought this day has turned out to be a dud already. It was then that we noticed the calming and informative voice of Captain Rick, as he kept us informed of boating conditions, the outlook for the day and a myriad of historical information along the way. Within 40 mins of the ride the sun started piercing through the dense fog which quickly lifted as we progressed. the vicarious voice of mate Brenda came dancing across the deck as she announced "Dolphins on the Port Side!" We scampered around the deck as more and more dolphins joined in the frolic. The day has turned around already! We chatted with Mate Mike, as he delivered drinks and treats along the way. The mates gathered from us that it was or 22nd Anniversary Celebration and began to make sure that we were having the best time possible. The ride out of the harbor went into the inter-coastal where Captain Rick continued to deliver interesting information with such detail that would rival any accomplished Historian.
We arrived at Cabbage Kay and after a careful docking we were off to explore but not before wolfing down some juicy and thick Reuben Sandwich in the Cabbage Key Inn Restaurant.
Tired from our explorations, we were ready for the return ride, and even though the traffic on the seas had picked up, our informative Captain kept us abreast of every development and did his best to smooth out the ride despite the wakes churned up by rambunctious boaters zipping by. As we turned into the harbor mouth where the waters and traffic calmed the more, we were again treated to the frivolous dance of the dolphins and the charismatic voice of mate Brenda. To our surprise, Captain Mike announced and shared our celebratory occasion with the rest of the lively passengers, and the crew presented us with a card and small gift, and took time to take some pictures with us... and for the last 40 mins of the ride sat with us and got to know us better, and we them.
As we made a slow and wake-less approach to the dock, we could not help but ponder how on such a bleak valentines day, a boat ride, a gifted professional cordial and courteous crew, a great destination, a personal touch with hearty participation, can make us feel oh so very special in moments that really matter.
So when you find yourself in SW Florida next, book a trip with King Fisher Fleet, ask for Captain Rick and mates Brenda and Mike and be sure to tell them Oral & Rosemary sent you. They will make their utmost effort to ensure that you have the best time possible even if the weather woke up on the wrong side the boat that morning!

The reservation process was flawless and when our initial cruise was cancelled due to weather, we were quickly notified and rebooked the following day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful prior to and during our boarding process. As we awaited our time to board, we watched Brad and Brenda meticulously sanitize the ship top to bottom. After we were seated, they came around to clean once again , dressed up in the cutest Holiday outfits, and Captain Glenn went over the COVID and safety precautions. Each person had a nice padded chair which were comfortable and spaced well apart from other parties.
Brenda had a small menu of drinks both alcoholic and non, and some snacks to purchase once we set sail. The ride along the river to the canals was very smooth and the boat on the lower level was at a good temperature. Some of the parties also chose to ride on top which is not enclosed.
Once we arrived in the canals, the awe began. Captain took his time explaining how everything worked on our journey, and ensured both sides of the boat would have the opportunity to see every beautiful light. What a show it was!
There were so many homes decorated both outside in the yards, the docks, their personal boats, and some homes even opened their windows up so we could see the glorious decorations inside as well. A few stood on their docks or patios and waved as we came by. The crew had lots of Christmas music going and it got everyone in a festive mood.
I can’t recommend this excursion enough. We had a great crew, spotless and comfortable boat, and the sights were fantastic.
When we returned to dock, we capped off the evening walking along the Fisherman’s Village to enjoy all the spectacular lights and decorations along the center.
I can’t wait to book it next year! We decided for 2021 we will take the extended ride which includes watching the sun set and then hitting the canals. Great job King Fisher Fleet- a truly “Do NOT miss” experience!
Merry Christmas!
I’m including a few photos because we mainly videotaped, but it gives you a take of the beautiful scenery.

As annual ticket holders, we take advantage of sunset cruises on quiet evenings. We were lucky enough to get seats on one, as during high season King Fisher can be very busy. It was a beautiful cruise which included our friends the dolphins leading the way and a fabulous sunset. Capt. Glenn, Kathy and Mike did an excellent job getting us on and off safely. The vessel has always been clean, but during these Covid times they take extra precautions, even cleaning the railings mid-cruise. We all happily wore masks and enjoyed our beautiful harbor! Thank you for always making this a relaxing, and always safe way to spend our evening!

We were there in late February and it was a cool day. Captain Joe and mates Brenda and Michael A. were fun to be around. They love their jobs and it shows. Most of the 37 people stayed below, out of the wind. The 4 of us chose to hang out up on deck in the open air, they called us the 'hoodie group.' They didn't forget about us, Captain Joe even had time for all of us. Dolphins swam with the boat going out and on the return trip. At Cabbage Key we saw the gopher tortoises, climbed the wooden water tower for a beautiful view and walked the path around the grounds. Little tip, at the restaurant on Cabbage Key, you may want to order your drink with no ice. Refills are not free and the plastic cup is small and filled with ice. Also you can't bring outside food onto the island. Although you CAN bring your own food on the boat, then leave your bag on the boat while you tour the island. That's fine. We loved our day out on the water. Beautiful!

We did the harbor tour with Captain Joe and Mates ReAnna, Ken & Brad. They had just recently resumed operations due to Corona. My wife, 2 daughters, and 3 granchildren and I had a great time.
Weather was perfect with calm water, and saw lots of dolphins as they swan and showed off next to our boat. The Captain and crew did a fantastic job, were extremely friendly, and conversational. I really enjoyed hearing about the history of the area during the trip but the highlight was certainly seeing the school of dolphins swimming next to our boat as we were cruising.
This is a great value and we plan to return and take one of their longer cruises in the near future.

My fiance and I took a last minute Sunset Cruise, it was a bit chilly that day and I sat on the front of the boat taking pictures and videoing the sunset. The whole time I waiting for Dolphins. The day trip saw a pod of over 30 Dolphins so I really had my heart set. Mate Mike A. kept coming outside talking to me about the Dolphins and giving me hope!!
My fiance was a little cold he sat inside lol. The sun set (but it was still light out) and we were headed back, I was now inside. All of a sudden I heard Captain Rickey say "oh we have some Dolphins in the front of the boat" (you never saw me move so fast) I couldn't believe it!! Mate Brenda went to the side of the boat and opened a window and started making Dolphin noises, lol wellllll they went to the side of the boat and were jumping for a good 8-10 minutes next to the boat, it was so amazing!!!!!!!!!! I was on the front of the boat looking at Dolphins and when they went to the side Mike A. ran out to get me and brought me to the window Brenda was calling out of, they were sooo nice!! The boat is super clean, plenty of seating inside or out. a little bar with drinks (alcohol and non alcohol) and light snacks. Great trip with Brenda, Mike A. and Rickey Duet. I cant wait to go back Valentines Weekend!!!

We were visiting friends in Sarasota and they suggested we go down to PG for the day. We took the afternoon cruise on the King Fisher Fleet with Captain Ralph,, Michael, and Jennifer. The cruise was great, with Captain Ralph regaling us with just enough local lore to be entertaining while still allowing quiet time to watch the incredible dolphin show going on around the boat. If you are in to dolphins this is the cruise for you . They were swimming all around, jumping, swimming in front of the boat and generally showing off. It was incredible. Michael and Jennifer were great deck hands and Micheal made a pretty good Margarita for my wife--that, and my beer, were both surprisingly affordable for a boat cruise. All in all a great way to spend a couple of hours on the water, Thanks Capt. Ralph, Michael and Jennifer

This review is to highlight "Penny" at the Kingfisher Ticket Office. We were there to purchase 4 tickets for an upcoming Sunset Cruise. We were buying 2 Annual Passes and 2 regular tickets for our friends arriving 2 weeks out. Penny suggested we pay for the 2 regular tickets now and pay for the annual passes on the day of the sunset cruise thereby extending our useage of the annual pass. How smart and helpful is that!! Plus Penny was welcoming and friendly. Kudos to the often not mentioned/rated ticket office staff. Thank you Penny!!

Like a few of us sport fishing enthusiasts, our budgets don’t always allow us the opportunity to go deep sea fishing. However the King Fisher Fleet located in the Punta Gorda Fishing Village allows individuals who may not have known each other before to sign up for a charter fishing adventure and head out to the Gulf for a day of fishing together. This past weekend six of us met for the first time at the pier and board a 45 ft charter boat and go out deep sea fishing . We had a great time, got to know each other and most important ;we caught a ton of fish! Okay, maybe not a ton but numerically we collectively caught/kept 50 fish! Some of them big. A few we threw back because they weren’t in season or unusual. The Gulf views are always spectacular. This day was no different . Trust this companys captains and first mates to put you on top of the fish that are biting. They are professional, fun and educational. They take the time to instruct novices and those with years of fishing experience. Expand your life experiences, do yourself a favor and book an outing . What are you waiting for?

We had such a fun trip on our sunset/Christmas lights cruise last night! Captain Rickey was amazing the way he handled that huge boat in the canals. It was a very chilly evening but my family members and I dressed for the occasion, we were happy that masks were required and limited capacity was done.
The sunset was outstanding and the Christmas lights in the canals we traveled were beautiful and fun. We even saw a small flotilla of lighted kayakers along the way!
Brenda and Brad did everything they could to see that all had a good time and refreshments if desired. Thanks King Fishery, I highly recommend the experience !

What is the cost of alcoholic drinks and snacks on the boat. I have a party of 26 going March 21st 2020
Written February 14, 2020
Mixed drinks (specialty ones) were about $8 to maybe $10. They were really good & worth it in my opinion.

We had no problem getting a ticket. Call them by phone to reserve

We did a special event, which is a Christmas Light tour, and it was approximately 1 hour and $20 a person (well worth it). However, if you just go to their site, they have many different tours. They were very helpful via phone, email and when we got their personally. We had around 25 in our group, and everything went flawlessly.

Yes boats have ramps, call to confirm destination though. Cayo Costa and Burnt Store are good choices depending on mobility. Cabbage Key may be more challenging.

Yes there is, we enjoyed the sunset cruise on top deck then after we started heading back we came inside and had some wine.
Nice relaxing ride.
There were some small children on board they just wanted to run around so I probably would not waste money with little ones.
