St. Joseph Peninsula State Park covers the 6-mile tip of Cape San Blas and offers fabulous outdoor recreation along a remote stretch of the Gulf of Mexico coast. You can stroll miles of sugar-white beach looking for shells, surf-fish, swim in the Gulf, snorkel or paddle in St. Joe bay, and picnic under the pines. I especially enjoyed several miles... More

Worth the time to walk around both the beach side and the bay side. I only gave it a 4 because they don't allow dogs on the beach.

There's a lot to see at the park, including some wildlife. Boardwalks between the two campsites are a great place to star gaze with not much light pollution. Shady Pines campsites can be a little small. Clean bathrooms and showers. Friendly greet staff and firewood for sale at the park.

This park is beautiful and has great paths, large dunes and pretty beaches. We even saw several deer when we were there.

First, this is a rating compared to other Florida State Parks, which we have found generally to be amazing. So don't let a 3 star deter you. It is relative to other more amazing parks. The beach itself was absolutely gorgeous, with miles of pristine white sand and shells. The campground was okay, with fairly large sites and some privacy,... More

Beach: beautiful, incredible. Campground: Gulf Breeze near the ocean was incredibly disappointing, Just dusty crowded campsites with nothing between sites. My 14' trailer would not fit a site, so we were moved. Shady Pines off the beach was a bit better, with some nice vegetation between sites, but still the sites were incredibly small and crowded. The bathhouses were ancient,... More

Small crowds. Absolutely beautiful here. No tourists traps. Just you, the wind and the waves. When I retire I am moving to this area. It's funny because you truly appreciate this area as a visitor and almost want to keep it a secret, but feel obligated to share it. If you want hotels, restaurants and rows of shops don't come... My wife and I visited, while vacationing in the area. The park has stunning beaches. Giant, natural sand dunes separate the beaches from the road. The beaches offer soft, powdery white sand, along with beautiful turquoise water. The surf is very gentle. There are no lifeguards, but there are flags posted reflecting surf conditions. On one of the beach access... More

This place is sheer heaven on earth, couldn't ask for a better place if you want quite and peaceful and loads of beach and water to yourself. So easy to find your own spot on beach where you see no one. Loads of large sea shells to pick up. Florida in its natural state. Only campers are allowed on island.... More
