Kayaking In The Bay
Mar 2021
We went to this park to rent kayaks, which we did, but stayed to hike the trails and learn about the Salt March. Kayaking, was easy and fun. Saw lots of birds but because of the wind that day we didn't venture out of the inlet there.
Picnic tables allowed us to enjoy our lunch under the trees, and then we did the slat springs marsh hike. Very enjoyable day.

Rent kayal or canoes to bring your oen
Mar 2021
Rented a canoe or kayak from salty dog kayaks for a two hour paddle out to the gulf and then back into the mangroves to the salt spring. It was very enjoyable. The owners of the kayak rental were very nice and professional. We recommend them

Fun outing for kids
Feb 2021
My kids and I (11, 10, 8 ) decided to check out this park for our nature study Fridays. On a whim, we decided to go kayaking. Two double kayaks for two hours- very reasonably priced! None of us were experienced, but the concessionaires (Salty Dog rentals) were very helpful (and professional!)Put my concerns at ease. Excellent customer service- highly recommended! Had an amazing and fun time! Had to cut our hike afterward short- hope to go back to see the springs!

Kayak rental: "Salty Dog Kayak Rentals"
Feb 2021
Our family (2 adults + 13 & 11 yo) came to the park for the kayak rentals from "Salty Dog Kayak Rentals". The owners were really helpful, giving us good advice on the tides, etc. - and the prices for single and tandem kayaks were great.
We paddled out "Durney Key" just offshore. We'd rented for 2 hours, but found that timing to be a little tight, so just called and had no issues extending for another hour. They are very accommodating, easy to work with and have good equipment. :-)

Kayaking
Jan 2021
My husband and I rented kayaks at the park from The Salty Dog outfitter in the park. The kayaks are new and owners were very accommodating and friendly. The kayaking routes were gorgeous. You can paddle to the Gulf and also in quiet streams... beautiful!

Nice hiking trails. Very desolate.

What a wonderful place to get away from the bustle of city life and go on some really nice hiking trails the way Florida looked like a hundred years ago. Great chance to see nature and tropical birds in flight and sitting. If your lucky u might see an eagle. Wonderful salt springs to view. You can’t go swimming but nice to view. Bug were minimal even in July at 11 am. Superb place to stroll and get some hiking done.

Nice Park and Walking Trails
Feb 2020
Picturesque views, comfortable walking trails with lots of areas for bird watching. My husband and I walked the Eagle trail, Springs trail and the Red Spring trail in about an hour. There is a kayak launch area available as well as clean restrooms.

Great hiking and biking. Picnic areas and a bathroom! Birdwatching, alligators, and other animals a plus. Salt Springs is worth the walk!
