About
Salty Dawg Outfitters has changed it's backyard. We are now located in beautiful Ponce Inlet where the Lighthouse is in our front yard and the boat marina is our backdrop. We still offer and carry the largest selection of fishing tackle (inshore and off shore) you will find! Our knowledge of fishing and the tackle we carry is bar none and the service is always with a smile. We have live bait including pin fish, shrimp and fiddler crabs and a vas selection of frozen bait. If you need breakfast, lunch, a snack or just something to drink we have it. Our newest addition is our Lighthouse Ice Cream shop. We have 12 flavors of hand dipped ice cream, shakes, floats, sundaes....Watch for the flavor of the season! Breakfast is here now too, if your headed out on the boat or to the beach early and want to grab a bite we have made to order breakfast sandwiches and bagels. Lunch.... You can't go wrong here! We have our regulars, B.L.T, chicken salad sandwiches, hot dogs and chili dogs and for the month of December our latest to the menu HOT Meatball subs. Our menu is simple, priced right and is all day! This was my first experience in a kayak and I have to say it was great. My guide (Dave) is very knowledgable about the area and the best areas to fish. The scenery was breathtaking and so peaceful it was hard to keep my eyes on the fishing lines. Any time you visit the New Smyrna or Port Orange area, please stop for a relaxing day of fishing on Spruce Creek you won't regret it.

Ecstatic you had such a great experience and found a new love of kayaking. Our 1st concern is to make sure our customers walk away happy and with a new found way to enjoy the water. Hope to see you again real soon.... the fish are back to biting!

I took the 4 hour kayak fishing trip. My goals were to get out on the intercoastal waters of Florida, catch fish, and take home fish to eat. I had 100% success. I got all this for under 50 bucks! My Florida fishing license cost an additional 17 dollars. I got mine online, which wasn't too painful even on Florida's defective website and app (write your temporary numbers down like I did just in case). It was going to be 250-350 dollars to go on a motorboat with other outfitters for the same amount of time.
My guide, Dave, was very knowledgeable about the area and an extremely proficient fisherman. I enjoyed the fact that he was there to help, yet, let me do things myself. I think he would also be excellent with kids or someone that doesn't have fishing experience. We caught 7 different kinds of fish. I took home enough fish filets for 2 or 3 people depending on sides.
Don't let the Port Orange address fool you. This place is only a couple miles from New Smyrna Beach.

This family owned business is a pure joy. The whole family was very helpful from mom, dad, and son. They each had their part in my very memorable day. I share a house in this area that I visit twice a year during bike events and I will definitely put this on my list to do again and again. Great time at a great price!!!!! If you want a lot of exercise or a little, a tourist, biker, or even a local this is a place to visit.

Well they open at 5am,rent and sell kayaks, sell live bait and has a nice little gift store inside. If you are new to kayaking this is the perfect place to put in,it is on Spruce creek it has nice shallow waters to learn and hone your skills. There are always eagles and dolphin playing around. Even if you don't rent a yak from them you can still put in there as long as you get some bait, help support this place,it was empty for years,it is good to see someone on the island. Good Luck!!

The guys here are wonderful and are so happy you've come to visit. The trip was so relaxing and quiet (once you get away from the highway). We saw many birds and had a couple of quick peeks at a manatee. A two hour trip may seem like a long time but it's an easy paddle and very enjoyable. This would be a good place for beginners, families, or someone just looking to relax

We stopped by Salty Dawg Outfitters to grab a quick bite and some supplies before hitting the Ponce Inlet Jetty for a day of fishing. The owners were so friendly and informative on fishing supplies. The food was reasonably priced and tasty! Highly recommend stopping when in the area! L

I went out December 2015 with Dave. This year, December 2016, was another memorable trip. We caught a Redfish, just undersized, caught several other fish, and plenty of action on the lines. We also had a good paddle though areas inaccessible to big boats. I'll be back! Thanks Dave and family!

I've always wanted to go kayaking. Hubby and I took the 2 hr tour with Salty Dawg, and it was fabulous! We went early in day, before it was too hot. Paddling was a little challenging in some spots, but we coasted with the tide in other areas. Our guide, Amanda, was super friendly! She made sure we had a good time and were comfortable, and did a good job pointing out the wildlife. I can recommend this outfitting team without hesitation!

I have my own Kayak but decided that when friends came to visit we should try this place for simplicity. Got great, friendly, prompt service. wonderful instructions with a plasticized map and all we needed to have a great day. My friends from Switzerland were very impressed.
