While there’s many things I’d like to respond to this review, I’m just going to tell the story and let the viewers decide. While booking the trip, I did tell the client that we “typically fish 10 plus miles offshore on the half day trips”. However, on the day in question, the usual areas were unproductive on the morning half day. Mitch only managed one kingfish on the morning trip. It was divulged over the radio that another captain had had better luck closer to shore, so Mitch went were the fish were biting a little better for the afternoon trip. After catching two nice kings, the client demanded to go further offshore. Knowing the effort would be futile, Mitch reasoned with the client to remain inshore. After the client called me to complain, I advised him to go there anyway because she was adamant. Of course the fishing was not good and hence the bad review. Sorry this individual had a bad experience, but had they stayed where the Captain wanted to, they would likely have caught multiple fish each just like the other boats whose clients listened to their captain’s suggestions.
