Der Fürst Schwarzenberg, ein Zürcher, baut einen Holzschwemmkanal von 54 Kilometern

Wir hatten ein wunderbares kleines Hotel gebucht, von dem aus wir Richtung Krumau fuhren und unterwegs den Beginn des Schwarzenbergschen Holzschwemmkanals besuchten. Eine kleine, bemooste Bachidylle, die in eine meisterhafte Ingenieurleistung führte. 54 Kilometer Kanal mit mehreren Tunnels, um im 18. Jahrhundert im Winter die Stadt Wien mit Brennholz aus dem Böhmerwald zu beliefern.
